Ebb-Dunedin, hotel in Dunedin

Set in Dunedin, 1 km from Taieri Gorge Railway, Ebb-Dunedin offers accommodation with a fitness centre, private parking, a garden and a terrace.

Very modern, spacious rooms, friendly staff, comfortable beds, feels high end. Even a regular room is as big as suites in many other hotels and it’s not crammed full with accessories you don’t need but take up space like desks etc.

Scenic Hotel Dunedin City, hotel in Dunedin

Scenic Hotel Dunedin City is a 4.5-star hotel which offers modern accommodation, many with harbour views. The hotel is located only 2 blocks from the Octagon, the city's famous landmark.

From the time we arrived the reception staff were so lovely, with big smiles and helpful. We also booked at a good time as my 10 year old got to have breakfast for free as a promo deal. The other beautiful thing was that I took my 78 year old father and we requested a room as close to the lifts as possible, and it was 🙂.

Fable Dunedin, hotel in Dunedin

Located in the heart of Dunedin, the Fable Dunedin is housed in a beautifully renovated and elegant Victorian-era building.

Beautifully appointed room with quality fittings. The room was quiet, comfortable and clean. It was a tad small but worked out fine. We enjoyed a tasty breakfast and good strong coffee (2 shots is normal in NZ) in the beautiful dining room. You can park out the front between 6 pm and 9 am for free. An additional hour will cost NZ $1.50.

Unfortunately, I could not go to my favourite Pub and Restaurant The Craig. There was absolutely no parking in the area at all and I had to give up after the 6th drive around the block for the same outcome. It was raining and would have been a 20-30 mins walk alone and in darkness to get to and from the Octagon.

Had dinner at the Creig (Irish bar), beautiful hotpot pie and veges, fire was on staff were great. Recommend this place for its atmosphere and meals. The Octagon seemed to have a few eating places that had closed down. Found a few cafes near the Octagon (in the side streets) that had more character.

Self contained, near to supermarket & liquor store, it had a microwave, kettle and toaster if you wanted to cook but also near to fast food places like Macdonald's, KFC, Pizza hut etc for takeaways. A few bars & restaurants nearby on the way into Dunedin Centre. Easy to find from the Octagon in the Centre of Dunedin & the Central bus station. Right next to a petrol station, if driving, & good parking facilities.

So happy I chose the terminus for my Dunedin stay. The apartment was a mixture of amazing historic brick but modern and such a high standard. I loved the floor to ceiling windows looking out to the queens park with so much greenery. The location was perfect for a short walk to the octagon or train station, but felt private and secluded. Easy to find parking downstairs. Loved the full kitchen and laundry facilities. Bonus to have courtyard seating too! Highly recommend for a luxurious stay in the city.

The house was lovely and cozy, with lots of cool paintings and the bed head was a cool design. I loved the flow through the apartment, it also had a good shower and a nice wee dressing area. The garden was beautiful, and the hosts were warm and welcoming. It was close to the center of Dunedin (just over 1km walk from the octagon, but very steep, so be prepared for that). A nice addition was they allowed me to use a Netflix account, I don't have my own one so it was nice to be able to use it while I was there.

The room was beautifully decorated and while a little smaller than other hotel rooms didn't feel cramped. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, they absolutely went out of their way to ensure we had a positive experience. Location was ideal just a 10 minute walk from the Octagon and valet parking was a win.

The hotel is very centrally located, easy walk up to the Octagon, across road from Settlers Muesum, and train station. Lots of car parking and all on the flat. The dinners were fantastic and a great price. Rooms were nice and warm with comfortable beds, great shower (have had so many duds while traveling).
