The staff and facilities at the hotel were first class. We very much enjoyed our stay and intend to stay at the Distinction on our next visit to Dunedin.

Great decor, reminded me of QT but better. Building has large open space in middle, from which you can view other floors and artworks, really beautifully done. /right in the centre of town so easy walking distance to food shops etc

We had a beautiful room with enormous old style picture windows to the street. The bed was very comfortable - a firm mattress with a plush topper. Kitchen was well equipped. Can't tell you about the staff as we saw no-one, due to a late self check-in. We received all the information we needed to do this.

I liked everything, particularly the friendly staff, such as Christina, and Athelene who helped me clear up a huge mistake I had made when I booked Victoria Hotel. I am forever grateful for her kindness and professionalism.

Unfortunately, I could not go to my favourite Pub and Restaurant The Craig. There was absolutely no parking in the area at all and I had to give up after the 6th drive around the block for the same outcome. It was raining and would have been a 20-30 mins walk alone and in darkness to get to and from the Octagon.

Had dinner at the Creig (Irish bar), beautiful hotpot pie and veges, fire was on staff were great. Recommend this place for its atmosphere and meals.
The Octagon seemed to have a few eating places that had closed down. Found a few cafes near the Octagon (in the side streets) that had more character.

the location is excellent between the octagon and the train station in central Dunedin, carparking spaces are good, suermarket is two doors up the road.
The room was beautifully decorated and while a little smaller than other hotel rooms didn't feel cramped. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, they absolutely went out of their way to ensure we had a positive experience. Location was ideal just a 10 minute walk from the Octagon and valet parking was a win.
Lovely renovated older building, very comfortable, good kitchen, thankful of coffee maker and very clean, would recommend for people who don’t mind a walk into town. Takes about 15 to 20 min into the Octagon on foot.
Fabulous hotel & a great location as it's close walking distance to restaurants & the Octagon. Really comfortable bed. We've stayed here before & will definitely stay again.
The hotel is very centrally located, easy walk up to the Octagon, across road from Settlers Muesum, and train station. Lots of car parking and all on the flat. The dinners were fantastic and a great price. Rooms were nice and warm with comfortable beds, great shower (have had so many duds while traveling).
The Chamberson was conveniently located close to the Octagon and had a luxurious vibe about it. The beds were really comfortable, and the hotel was quiet. As someone who struggles to sleep whilst away (and usually needs an eye mask & noise cancelling headphones!) I can say I slept comfortably with no issues whatsoever. The view was lovely & the big floor to ceiling curtains were black-out so no waking up early!
Lovely big 3 bedroom apartment in a fantastic location. Just a couple of minutes walk to the Octagon, bars and restaurants. Very easy check in and great communication with the hosts. Very well equipped kitchen and a wonderful living area with plenty of seating.
