The lodge was close to the town but remote en not to hear any traffic or cars, it had a great view of the ocean and beach and the grounds were beautiful. The kitchen was large and had everything we needed as was the common area. It was nice to have a fireplace for the evening.

Great wee place, quiet and cute. Lots of supplies for breakfast and more. Friendly and accomodating without any fuss. worked well for a 2.5 year old (could easily block of the stairs if you were worried about it)

By far the best accomodation in Oamaru and definitely top in the country! This place is SO comfortable, full of amenities, private, convenient and charming. It's one of the most thoughtfully set up places I've ever stayed. I unfortunately came with a fever and stomach bug and didn't get to enjoy Oamaru as planned, but at least I could recover in the best possible place. Even the hosts' very lovingly laid out and generous toast, cereal and water filter saved me as I was healing and too weak to go to the shops. I could do a load of laundry after not feeling well and venturing out with the bit of energy I had was made so much easier by the fabulous location. The shower is AMAZING. The towels are lush. The bed is wonderful. Great heating. Kitchen stacked wonderfully. I honestly cannot wait to come back and stay for longer and healthier! Hosts came by to say hello and thank you and I appreciate everything they did.

Great little place.
Great little place.
If driving go into the carpark - Not the cafe - and you can walk to the beach free. If you go to the cafe you have to buy a ticket to walk down their steps to the same beach.
Funniest thing we saw was people madly chasing their tickets along the beach which had fallen out of pockets!
Boulders are a fun activity, worth stopping to look at
