The accommodation itself is a tourist attraction with lots of photo opportunity. It's interesting to learn about the history of the mansion from the tour. We also enjoyed the guzheng music played by a solo artist in the courtyard on a Friday evening.
Since it is located in the Unesco World Heritage Site, many historical significant attractions are within walking distance.
The room is clean although it's slightly dim. We love having the breakfast in the courtyard and the food was good.
This stay is highly recommended for a truly unique cultural experience.

Very central location. The property has a lot of charm and the staff is very helpful and can give you some recommendations of restaurants and things to do around Georgetown.
The off street parking is very difficult during day time but there is a parking at 3 mins walk from the hotel.

The space in this hostel is really big. There is no other hostel that provide such big space in the room and common area. It is really convenient especially when repacking luggage. The rooftop area is also an awesome place that has komtar view, very nice during night. The last time I came, the kitchen was not yet opened for use, and now it is. The kitchen is located at the rooftop, which solved the problem of oily kitchen smell within the hostel area. There are activities during the night in common space.
Hotel is conveniently located in the central part of the town. Nice view of Komtar (65 floors building) from the room. Free carpark - tap your room key to access the multistorey carpark. Walking distance to popular food courts, coffee shops and restaurants.
What I like the most was the location of this hotel. very close to the Jetty, Komtar Bus Terminal and there are mall that just located across the hotel. The room is so clean and very quiet.
Very close to the Ferry - 900m, 10m walking, 2 min walk from Street Art, Jetty Food Court, 15 min from Komtar (the best view from sky tower at sunset), 20 min from Cheong Fatt Tze. Location is excellent to walk around to Esplanade, Chinatown, Little India. Easy to reach other destinations by Grab. The hotel looks good, nice and clean room, very helpful and friendly staff. Bathroom is bog enough, hot water - btw, the water is potable.
The hotel look very new and the room is good with comfy bed. Also, the location is not too far from Komtar and bus terminal. Can walk there in a few minute.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and the overall guesthouse was clean and presentable. Walking distance to many iconic Penang places, like KOMTAR, GAMA and the bustling Hin Bus Depot. Weekends morning to late noon time at the Hin Bus depot was such fun with live music and different folks selling their home made creations. There's also Penang's Michelin Star, Au Jardin in the Depot. It was a delight to the senses. Really enjoyed my time there. A must visit especially over the weekend mornings if you stay in Dou Houz.
The hotel is located within the town area. Which is very convenient for tourist to walk to most attractions within George Town. Easy to walk towards the Chow Rasta Market, Komtar, and a kilometer away to the Esplanade walking distance. In terms of the hotel outlook, I would say it's good not the best. Room cleanliness is just great. The transparent elevator is just bonkers.
