Beautifully decorated colonial style hotel with large rooms and lovely common areas to unwind. Bathrooms are large, functional and in good condition. Staff is super nice, speak English and are helpful.
Set in Merida’s town centre, Mansión Mérida Boutique Hotel - Restaurant is housed in a refurbished French-style mansion of the 19th century.

The hotel is a mansion lovingly converted into a hotel by the original owner’s great grandson Raul. He greeted us like family and made sure to check in all week to make sure we were being spoiled enough.
The outside and interior courtyard featuring a large fountain are beautiful and the public areas inside are furnished with wonderful ceramics, paintings, furniture and plants.
The restaurant in the hotel serves excellent food in the courtyard, the bar and a patio area right outside the main entrance. Waitstaff are so solicitous and friendly; it was a pleasure to see them every morning for our delicious breakfasts.
We had room service one night, ate a snack on the patio one afternoon and had dinner there on a different day. The food never disappointed.
All of the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and it nice to meet the manager, Ivan who I had communicated with prior to our trip.
The hotel is very close to the main plaza, shopping, restaurants and walking distance to Paseo Montejo which features some beautiful French influenced mansions built when Merida was one of the wealthiest cities in the world due to the henequin or sisal trade.
Our room was large, had lots of storage for clothes and had stenciled walls and a sitting area in addition to a desk. The bed was very comfortable.
The bathroom was also large and had great water pressure in the oversized shower.
We spent a week there including Christmas and got to enjoy trips to cenotes, the ruins at Uxmal and a day at the beach near Progreso.
We also enjoyed a festive Christmas Eve hotel dinner with live music, decorations and a special menu featuring 4 courses and wine.
We will definitely stay again on another trip to Merida. It is rare to find such personal attention and relaxed atmosphere in an historical building.
Great work Raul!!

Loved the location and the charm of the hotel. .Staff were all lovely and the breakfasts were really good. We were sorry not to have stayed for longer - we were only there for 2 days and out on long trips on both days. We would have liked more time to explore Merida and to chill by the delightful pool bar in the hotel.

Beware when buying a trip (from any touristic agencies that sell them). Check the distances and traveling times: highly recommend visiting the attractions near Mérida (if you're staying in Mérida).
If you plan to visit the Cancún area, it's better to stay in that area than travel all the way from Mérida.
The tour agencies try to sell these trips as incredible experienced but they're really overpriced as you spend 4-5 hours sitting in a van (each way) and very little time at the destination. It's exhausting, too rushed and in my opinion, not worth the money or the time!

Well worthwhile an afternoon spent around the square.
Well worthwhile an afternoon spent around the square. All buildings are free to enter, and everything has a/c. Beautiful artwork, beautiful architecture inside. We managed to catch a visiting Picasso exhibition for free, and found some really adorable sculptures down a sidestreet. And if you tire of wandering around, there are always cafes or icecream shops around the square where you can sit and watch the world go by.

The hotel is really nice. I liked the location, the San Juan area is full of locals rather than tourists but it's safe and friendly. It's only a few minutes walk to the main square and taxis/ Uber is cheap. The rooms are spacious and clean. We had the swimming pool just outside the door. It was lovely
Excellent Hotel close to square/Parc Santa Ana. Fifteen minute walk along busy thoroughfare (lots of restaurants etc) to main square.
Staff very helpful and attentive. Very good breakfast menu, freshly prepared at reasonable prices.
The hotel Reforma is central position in the walking distance to the main square with a lot nice restaurants and cafes around. The hotel is former hacienda.
lovely period hotel, with original features and restored with taste. drinking water always available: bottles left in the room daily, and fountains for refills. great to have access to the small pool as a refresher at the end of the day. pleasant courtyard with plants and flowers. good location, a few minues' walk from main square.
Stunning boutique hotel. We chose it for the parking, which is a block away. Short walking distance to the main square/s, so lovely and peaceful. I think we were the only ones there, so had the whole place to ourselves. 4 course breakfast was ample.
Amazingly friendly hosts. A cool boutique hotel with some cute cats running around. Just outside of the main square and a short walk to anything in Merida. Great coffee in the morning too!
