This is a beautiful large bungalow inside a secured gated community and surrounded by beautiful tea gardens. This is neither a hotel nor a home stay but somewhat blended together. They have 6 rooms. There are no elevators. There are limited options of food ..more like a set menu. There are no room services. Liquor is not available but there is a bar very close by and within the community.
Overall exceptional services were provided by the folks there. Great attitude and always eager to help. Perfectly clean rooms , linens, curtains, washrooms and common areas. We opted for the half board and would recommend the same. Tasty Food served. Excellent food presentation . They have a great chef.
Looking forward to the next visit to Winchester.

If you get up early you can see the hills reflected in glassy water - but after about 8.30am it all gets churned up by motor boats and jet skis racing up and down as Sri Lankan families enjoy their days out. You can walk around the lake but keep your initial entry ticket as you have to pass through repeat entrances and may get charged multiple times.
Lovely little hotel with old world charm, and staff that take the best care of you. The view is lovely, location perfect, walking distance from the main market, and not too far from the main tourist attraction Gregory Lake. Raghu was so very helpful, noticing on the first day what foods we had more, or less of, and adjusting accordingly. Chamilla always checked if we needed anything. I would recommend this place.
The Construction Quality of the hotel is amazing. Indoor heated pool in such cold weather is cherry on the top. The rooms were spacious with a direct view of Gregory Lake.

It was very close to Gregory lake. but it has no lake view. we booked it for few persons but you can manage it for 6 or 7 persons. The Owner Mr saman was very attentive and he task his staff to make our stay good. the apartment is like antic pattern one. you have all facilities here like your home. staff was very helpful.
Gregory house hostel is a perfect choice if you visit Nuwara ellya , it is cozy , quiet with a direct view on gregory lake .

The apartment was new, very clean and had all the cooking utensils. Very close to the Gregory lake. Our host Baabu was a delight to talk to and made sure our stay was pleasant as much as possible. Will definitely visit again and can recommend to anyone looking for a great place to stay close to the lake/city.
We stayed for three nights at the Royal Lake Hotel, and we totally enjoyed our time there. From the first moment, we felt very welcomed as Nalindaa. You can easily walk to Gregory Lake from the hotel. Nalinda made everything perfect as he arranged all of our special wishes and really wanted you to feel comfortable. For example, he promptly organized a scooter for us. The price was even lower than stated in our travel guide. We also had a delicious dinner and breakfast, as well as lunch packages for our trip to Horton Plains.
