Absolutely beautiful colonial building in the centre of the Fort with beautiful interior decoration. Stunning and large rooms which are very luxurious, modern, new and clean. Bed very comfortable. We had the two level loft room which we loved. Lovely pool to cool off and relax in. The breakfasts were fantastic and great latte coffees. Great choice of Sri Lanka breakfast and/or western plus fruit and toast/pastries. Great bar. Great location.

The staff was absolutely wonderful. They welcomed us with such kindness and attentiveness, and I will never forget my time with them! I can't say enough about how well they treat their guests. The Taru Villas Kandy staff onsite were wonderfully hospitable. However, the location nor the villa is much to brag about. The rooms were badly lit and inadequate for the number of guests it claimed to sleep and the location of the villa was between a noisy main road and very active train tracks. Do not recommend.

The staff were amazing, they were always around and made sure the stay was smooth. The breakfast was great and time to have breakfast was flexible.
The main area of the hotel where you have breakfast is really nice with Old architecture, high ceilings and an indoor garden with natural light.
The stay was great value for the upmarket area inside Galle Fort.
This was an outstanding boutique hotel- a block or two away from the main drag of Galle Fort, but that made it quieter. The rooms were clean and nice and the food was excellent. But what set this hotel apart from others was how helpful and kind everyone was. Everyone bent over backwards to accommodate anything you might need, from getting clothes laundered to giving us a to-go breakfast hours before their restaurant was officially open. Could not have been nicer. I would recommend the Yara Galle Fort to anyone.
The property is located in a quieter part of Galle. You can choose to walk 30 minutes to the Galle fort area or grab a tuktuk. We did both and didn’t mind the walk!
The owner is very friendly and his wife brought out a welcome drink and let us decompress. Our room and bathroom were clean and the AC works very well. We were able to eat at the restaurant at the hotel and were very happy with our food! This is a great place to book at
It felt like the entire team went out of their way to make our stay special. Everything about the hotel was outstanding, from the spotless rooms, to their fantastic rooftop restaurant and bar, and the central location. After checking out several other hotels and restaurants in the Galle Fort area, this is easily the top choice.
Located right in the heart of Galle Fort, my room was luxurious, with such a deep mattress, I practically needed a ladder! Staff were responsive and very obliging, and the (English) breakfast was lavish! The hotel had a charming ambience.
Breakfast was great and the limited staff tried to provide their best for customers. Although the room was small bed was comfortable and we also got 2 free tuktuk rides to galle fort thanks to the Managing director of the hotel.
Everything. The size and comfort of the room, which was perfect for a family of 4. The staff, who were courteous, friendly and very helpful. The location, in the heart of Galle Fort. The food, and we had great Sri Lankan breakfasts every morning. The price, which was very reasonable given the quality of the room, breakfast, service and location, especially compared to what I saw from other hotels with a similar colonial aesthetic.
Beautiful boutique hotel in the nicest street of Galle fort. Very nice sense of aesthetics and decoration, and the rooms are comfortable and quiet. The shower had great hot water with pressure, which is rare to find in Sri Lanka. The staff was very friendly and tried at all times to ensure a best experience for us.
The guest house is owned and run by lovely family. They were very hospitable and ready to help. Location is great: close to railway and bus stations, quiet area, behind the Asiri hospital [convenient for PCR testing], walking distance to Galle Fort, short ride to Unawatuna beach. We had one of the best breakfasts in Sri lanka in this hotel, notably proper Italian coffee. Room was spacious, clean, with all facilities, huge balcony, TV, excellent wifi. We highly recommend this guest house if you would like to have a pleasant stay in Galle
