Had 2 nights at this accommodation. Appreciated the extra space and that it was close to town, train, and bus stations, as it snowed heavily for those 2 days.
Staff were very helpful when helping to transfer abag to our next accommodation.
Room had everything we needed to self cater a bit as well. The extra toiletries were a nice touch.

The location was perfect. Just across the road from the train station. Room was large and the breakfast perfect. Not a huge choice but what was there was well presented and well cooked.

I had a lovely stay in this hotel, the room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The bath is standard for Japan; it is quite small but has everything you need. The bar in the hotel was very cozy, with delicious drinks. The staff at the reception was super helpful and friendly.

The room was spacious and very clean with great beds. It is very close to the bus and/or trainstation. We did not directly see the sign of the hotel, so we had to ask. The room made us very happy and we felt pity that we only stayed there so shortly.

Beautiful traditional rooms set in an old temple. We had a large suite with its own bathroom and effectively 3 other rooms (2 bedrooms and a dining area) for a family of 4. The facilities were super clean and beautifully presented, and the staff we met were just lovely and helpful. Think tatami mats, futon beds etc. The other thing that struck us was the amount of space, we never expected to stay somewhere so spacious in Japan. There are a number of experiences you can participate in as well, be sure to check them out! Probably no more than a 15 min walk to most sights in town.

We had a free morning hike around the vicinity before we went to shirakawago.
Food was fantastic at toyota shirakawago go, very lovely hotel with a great onsen.
We love this quiet little hotel. The hotel is new, very modern and clean and lovely design. The staff was quick to attend to our issue and we love every bit of our stay there . Highly recommend this accommodation. The bonus is it is 5 mins drive to Shirakawago.
Fantastic heating unit they have, so comfortable! It was hitting negative 2 degrees Celsius in mid November. We enjoyed the location so much and frequented the Shirakawago no Yu (onsen), Nono Izakaya, Tenkara Yakiniku as recommended by host.
Love it so much and I definitely will book the whole place next time together with my family. Love it 😍.
I normally don't like dormitory accommodation. I had no choice as there was little or no accommodation at Shirakawago. The first night was great but the second was horrific with Gen Z revelling until 1 pm in the morning. The couple running the hostel were, however, very friendly and accommodating.
If you are looking for a traditional Japanese experience, this is it. Tatami mats, food and onsen.
This was the only hotel in Shirakawago that provided your private bathroom/toilet.
The hotel is located on the river - we left the window open at night to listen to the water gurgling past.
This was by far the best experience my partner and I shared in Japan. The family is beyond hospitable and they make you feel like one of their own. They made our visit to shirakawago very special and we are very much anticipating our next visit. 11/10
My recent stay at CURIO Shirakawago was a serene escape into tranquility. The charming hotel, nestled in the heart of picturesque Shirakawago, surpassed expectations. The two complimentary biscuits in the room were a delightful surprise, offering a warm welcome.
It’s really a nice and worth place to stay. I really happy that i got my luck to stay in this hostel. The hostel owner and staff is a friendly and mindful person. They will provide the pickup service between the station and the hostel, even the shirakawago also.
I stay on the day of light-up even, I am luckily able to get the ticket also.
I feel 120% good to stay here and many thanks for anything provided by the hostel ( transport and food)
-the hotel is located in a forest, with ground still partially covered in snow in late march. The location feels like a resort. in fact, it has free activities like forest walk which we enjoyed thoroughly (boots and snow shoes provided).
But if you don't drive, you will need to use their free shuttle to and fro from Shirakawago bus terminal. about 10 mins drive.
-great outdoor onsen. We enjoyed the stars and moon while we soaked!
-french style meal and fine dining, which is a pleasant surprise for us. (altho the fish was overcooked)
The hotel is nice, clean, and warm, and the owner is pretty kind to offer the traveler help. They provide free coffee and tea, and also a kitchen you can use. The view outside the hotel and the building itself are both wonderful. Even though it takes a walk to go to shirakawago, the scenery along the road is another beautiful memory.
