Incredible experience from start to finish. I only stayed one night, but I felt immediately at home and could not have been happier. The private, in-room onsen was the highlight of the room without question. Such a wonderful way to unwind and I spent hours in there. They keep the onsen very hot, hotter than most I've been to, but it's easy to add cold water to cool it down and if you go too far, a call to the front desk will have hot water piping back in. I enjoyed soaking while watching the snow fall through the open window - and was very comfortable!
The room was extremely spacious with sliding partitions for each area, so if traveling with a partner or family, it would be easy to create privacy when needed. In-room amenities were great. Nice lotions, soaps, etc. Lighting in the room was very nice - I believe about 6 different settings you can choose from to create the mood you're looking for.
The meals were absolutely top notch and unforgettable, both the dinner and breakfast. I can't say enough good things but the food surpassed all my expectations. Simply lovely.
Checking in and out was very smooth and simple. It was easy to catch a taxi from directly outside Tobu Nikko station and when it was time to leave, the staff called a taxi for me.

Location next to JR train station and busses to all the sights in Nikko, but still sufficiently quiet. Good size of room, bed and bathroom. Very attentive staff at reception desk. Onsen was pleasant, with two small indoor baths and one larger round outside pool.

Shinkyo Bridge
A fitting gateway to Nikko’s sacred temples, vibrant Shinkyo Bridge is considered one of the most beautiful in all of Japan. Legend has it that a god named Jinja-Daiou summoned up two giant snakes to form the crossing in 766 AD. Rebuilt many times over thousands of years, the current bridge was given UNESCO World Heritage status in the 1990s.

Everything, it’s a fantastic small family run hotel . Mark, the English owner and his Japanese wife were so helpful and welcoming. The food at dinner was great, the English -Japanese breakfast amazing sitting on the terrace overlooking the river, the room was very nice and big and clean, bathroom was great. Location perfect just by the Shinkyo bridge. Everything was absolutely amazing.
Wonderful location and big clean rooms, extremely helpful staff, beautiful gardens, shuttle service, gift shop. Very near to the temple complex and Shinkyo Bridge
Tranquil oasis! Like staying in my own private apartment with views over a zen garden. Bedroom, living room, large bathroom with TV over bath, and a massage chair! Furnished in traditional style with tatami mats and shoji. Lovely Kaiseki meals. Fantastic location near Shinkyo bridge and Nikko park. Very friendly, helpful staff - especially Arvinda on the front desk. Thanks for a great stay!
Nice place for staying in Nikko:
- Great location near of famous Shinkyo Bridge and on the main street. 15 minutes walk from the railway station, bus stop in few meters near of the hotel.
- Spacious and cozy room in tradition japanese style.
- Tea, coffe and buns for breakfast in the room.
- Comfortable onsen on the first floor.
- Traditional japanese clothes and cups for tea.
- You can leave your luggage on the reception desk before check-in and after check-out.
- Polite and caring staff.
having an on-site onsen and rotenburo was the best. the room was a good size with a quiet, private veranda. meals were very filling and tasty, and the staff were very kind and friendly. has a good location near shinkyo bridge, and is about 10m walk from the nearest bus stop (which is the end of main street) and 10m away from lawson and very close to the toshugu shrine area. but if you're at nikko you're probably expecting to walk. thoroughly enjoyed my stay!
An unforgettable stay Thanks to the owner Mr Yoshi and his guest house, everything was great and cosy.
For our 35-year engagement anniversary we decided to take an unforgettable trip to Japan with our children and we could not miss a visit to one of the most beautiful UNESCO heritage sites with temples set in the green mountains and the shinkyo bridge
Everything, I had such a great group both nights I stayed and the owner would also engage with us at night to do more and have more fun. On the first night, she helped the girl's dorm get to know each other more by driving us to Shinkyo bridge at night and telling us to walk back to get to know each other! On the second night, she brought mini fireworks and sparklers for all the guests to light up outside which is now such a special memory for me when I think of Nikko.
Location is convenient for sightseeing and near the train station (about 20 minutes walk to Shinkyo Bridge and another 10 minutes to UNESCO shrines. Room is basic but comfortable. Very reasonably priced and includes complementary breakfast.
The hotel is about 3 km from main railway station, in a quiet area along the Daiya River. The main highlights of Nikko, Toshogu temple, Shinkyo bridge and the imperial villa are all at walking distance from the hotel. Our room was enough for 3 people, and the bathroom was clean. A real onsen is available free of charge inside the building, and is a wonderful experience. Free tea and coffee are available in main hall.
It is an older hotel but still very popular among the Japanese. Buffet Breakfast was okay. Room was very clean and comfortable. Not too far from all the major sites. Private onsen room reservations available. Springtime in Nikko is great, it exceeded our expectations. You can easily spend the entire day visiting all the temples and shrines north of the Shinkyo bridge.
