Access to this hotel was like a secret being revealed as there was no obvious doorway. Once through the panel that slid open on approach, access to the lift was like an adventure through a winding, artfully decorated hallway.
Right above the Toyosu subway station and next to the airport limousine (bus), this hotel is ideally located for access to Haneda Airport. The attractive waterside location is away from the more touristy parts of Tokyo and offers easy walking access to TeamLab Planets and the Toyosu Fish Market.
The views from the the 36th floor and our room a floor below were sensational. The water views were great and at night we could see the Skytree and in the daytime Mt Fuji. From a walk along the promenade at night we were rewarded with views of the Tokyo Tower and the Rainbow Bridge.
At the end of each day a soak in the beautiful spa was very welcome and we particularly enjoyed the outdoor one when it was raining.

Superb location. Great room and clean and comfortable. Quiet and private hotel since the number of rooms are much lesser. Even next to Don Quixote and a supermarket.

Staying at Suzumeya Tsukiji was an unforgettable experience. Fuko, our host, told us that she and her carpenter friend restored this old house a year ago to turn it into this micro-hotel (just three rooms). The love and care they take is evident in every little corner. The room was absolutely spotless, not one mote of dust anywhere. And the layout and furniture are so well considered. The zaisus (Japanese floor chairs), for example, had some of the comfiest cushions I've ever sat on. (They felt a bit like memory foam.) Fuko was also helpful with directions getting there from Narita, and local recommendations, such as a 24h sushi place nearby that was also excellent. Finally, the breakfasts are just brilliant. We had one of each, the traditional Japanese (rice porridge, tamagoyaki, silken tofu, smoked pickled daikon, and more) and the toast (Japanese thick-cut milk bread), and both were excellent. Fuko has a little info sheet for the Japanese breakfast, and also explained everything as it was served. She sources the ingredients from the nearby market each morning so it's fresh and delicious.
Again, all around, an unforgettable experience. We will plan our next trip to Tokyo around availability at Suzumeya, ahead of any other factors. 😂
