- This hotel is beautiful, cozy and so peaceful. From the room design to the lobby and restaurant, always with a view of the serene courtyard - I wish I could have stayed longer just to relax and take in the atmosphere a few more days.
- The location is excellent, with just a 10 minute walk to the Kintetsu train station with connections to Kyoto, Osaka and more. Also in walking distance are most of Nara’s sights: Naramachi with lots of shops, restaurants and breweries, many shrines and temples, and Nara Park (with deer hanging out right outside the hotel doors). The pagoda was under construction when we stayed but would have been a beautiful view right from the rooftop terrace.
- The food was delicious. I still dream about the onigiri rice balls we had for breakfast. Unlimited tea, coffee, juices, beer, whisky soda and other drinks was really nice to have.
- The wood chip foot bath was an intriguing new experience and very nice after a long day of walking around town.
- It was great to be able to choose the level and frequency of housekeeping.
- The included walking tour was great; our guide showed us beautiful spots to take photos and pointed out interesting facts that we would have missed otherwise.
- My husband smokes and was very appreciative of the designated spot on the rooftop where he could go without bothering anyone.
- The shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were so nice. I really felt a difference in how soft my hair was after I used it.
- The pyjamas were the most comfortable. I wish I could have bought a pair to bring home!
- The hotel’s focus on sustainability.
- The chickens.

The meager staff were gracious and eager to please. The room was large and comfortable, the shower and bath were first rate.

Spotless and posh, right next to Nara’s main train station (we accidentally took a train to the other station, but it wasn’t a big deal). It’s also near convenience stores and Nara’s main shopping street with lots of shops and restaurants. The room was a little small but an exceptional value. You can walk to Nara Park in about a half-hour or take a clearly marked bus from right outside. It was also easy to walk or bus to the charming Naramachi neighborhood.
The owner was very lovely. She showed me and explained thoroughly. Checked the temperature of hot shower and explained about other guests staying, which made me feel safe. It is located quiet Naramachi area. Bit of walk from the station but there are lots of little nice shops and restaurant to browse around. Very clean room and futon. Happy to come back again.
The hotel is conveniently located to Nara park for the major tourist attractions and Naramachi, the old merchant district. In addition, the room was very spacious and clean.
The location is fabulous. Practically in Nara park. And so close to Naramachi, the neighborhood just south of Sarusawa Pond where there are many quaint restaurants that serve great food, not to mention the narrow streets with traditional houses that are a delight to explore. The check-in instructions were easy to follow.
Beautiful location right next to Sarasawa Pond and Naramachi and the 5 story pagoda. The staff is fantastic!! — so friendly and helpful. The rooms are big and clean with Japanese flooring and decorative touches that give a real feel for the Japanese style.
This property is in the perfect setting within Naramachi with views of the lake and the temples. It was comfortable and convenient. The staff were welcoming and helpful. It was easy to walk around the shopping streets, Nara Park, and the various temples. The view of the 5 story pagoda lit up at night was amazing. We enjoyed every minute!
The owner staff was very friendly and kind. We had nice chats with him and his wife. The location is very close to Shijo street where you can enjoy local foods and entertainments. I went to Naramachi for my dinner, and it was also walking distance from the hostel. Naramachi was also nice place to explore.
