Comfort Hotel Nara, hotel in Nara

Located a 5-minute stroll away from JR Nara Station, Comfort Hotel Nara offers rooms with free WiFi access.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in two rooms, and both were clean and comfy. There is a microwave on the first floor and washing machines and dryers you can use for coins on the 5th floor. The best was the breakfast, it was delicious and nutritious. I took full advantage of it, I stuffed myself with food every morning and then went to tour the temples in the mountains near Nara, some of which require a lot of energy to walk around.

Nara Washington Hotel Plaza, hotel in Nara

A 5-minute walk from JR Nara Station, Nara Washington Hotel Plaza offers rooms with free wired internet in the heart of Nara, close to many shops and restaurants.

Stay there at end of 2024. Location was great as it was between Nara Station and Kintensu Nara Station. Clean Small room but that is typical in Japan. The people at the front desk was friendly and speak good English. They greeted me everytime i go out or come back to the hotel. There were a lot restaurants nearby so choice of foods was endless. Konbini store was nearby.Nara park was a 20 minute walk. Tourist shopping areas was a 10 minute walk. WIFI connection was strong. Windows can be open for fresh air. The bathtub was awesome! You can soak in there for hours as it was deep.😅😅

SETRE Naramachi セトレ ならまち, hotel in Nara

SETRE Naramachi セトレ ならまち features free bikes, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in Nara. Featuring a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a restaurant.

- This hotel is beautiful, cozy and so peaceful. From the room design to the lobby and restaurant, always with a view of the serene courtyard - I wish I could have stayed longer just to relax and take in the atmosphere a few more days. - The location is excellent, with just a 10 minute walk to the Kintetsu train station with connections to Kyoto, Osaka and more. Also in walking distance are most of Nara’s sights: Naramachi with lots of shops, restaurants and breweries, many shrines and temples, and Nara Park (with deer hanging out right outside the hotel doors). The pagoda was under construction when we stayed but would have been a beautiful view right from the rooftop terrace. - The food was delicious. I still dream about the onigiri rice balls we had for breakfast. Unlimited tea, coffee, juices, beer, whisky soda and other drinks was really nice to have. - The wood chip foot bath was an intriguing new experience and very nice after a long day of walking around town. - It was great to be able to choose the level and frequency of housekeeping. - The included walking tour was great; our guide showed us beautiful spots to take photos and pointed out interesting facts that we would have missed otherwise. - My husband smokes and was very appreciative of the designated spot on the rooftop where he could go without bothering anyone. - The shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were so nice. I really felt a difference in how soft my hair was after I used it. - The pyjamas were the most comfortable. I wish I could have bought a pair to bring home! - The hotel’s focus on sustainability. - The chickens.

Nara is always a nice city to visit, with its numerous temples. Beware of the multiple deers roaming around and looking for food! To them, tourists are nothing but self-moving, all-you-can-eat, free food dispensers. Anything sticking out of your body (purse, belt, map, a sweater tied around your waist, just anything) will be seen as food and... eaten, or drooled on (yuk!). The best part is of course the Todaiji with its Daibutsu, but other temples are nice as well. In summer don't miss the Light Festival, when most of the stone lamps are lit up and the large front window of the Todaiji is open letting yousee the face of the Daibutsu from outside.

Nara is a place known for its beauty, both historically and in the present world. It served as the capital of Japan in 1600, and I believe it is the most scenic destination today. I have traveled to 80 locations in Japan, and while I recognize that there are many beautiful places beyond Nara, the connectivity to Nara and its unique atmosphere give it the top position in my heart.

So many shrines, such great photos everywhere!

So many shrines, such great photos everywhere! Most of Nara is very walkable, and tho theres a lot of tourists, the deer seemed to take it in their stride. I recommend also the Toy Museum where traditional toys are carefully demonstrated to you, the National Art museum and the Ire Taikichi photography museum which have special exhibitions. I highly recommend RingRing in Shimomikada St in central Nara for a different and meaningful experience of making your own simple inscribed ring/s out of silver, gold or platinum from scratch. Only an hour! I would like to return and stay longer in Kyoto/Nara area to soak up spiritual and creative atmosphere

Nara has some very interesting places to see - especially outside of the central area and further afield. But there is a lot of touristic infrastructure. In October, when we visited, it was overwhelmed with tourism - packed! The deers are very tame - surrounded by tourists feeding them. The males, mostly, have their antlers cut off - all rather sad. It's not like seeing the majestic deer in the highlands of Scotland!

I had the most amazing stay at the hotel! The hotel is really clean and I enjoyed the full tatami flooring and shoes off policy. There were so many small thoughtful touches like free yoghurt drink and popsicles after onsen and free ramen for supper. Also the washing machine was free while dryer was chargeable. The breakfast spread was super awesome as well with regional specialities that are a good size for trying. Also the location being right next to JR Nara can't be beaten.

Lovely Hotel and great onsen. The hotel is located at the heart of Nara and very convenient to spend more than just a day trip. Breakfast was lovely (we did the Japanese one). Onsen was gender separated and beautiful - especially the outside part, and had all add-ons you can wish for, including a tea station and a massage chair. Rooms were very spacious - unusual for Japan and comfy.

Amazing location in a traditional hotel. The staff were warm and friendly and bent over backwards to help us. The hotel is right across the road from Nara Park. You can hear the deer in the middle of the night. It’s a great place to locate yourself for exploring the park. They even had parking out the front.
