No one can wear shoes in the hotel . There are shoe lockers at the entrance. In the room , there are slippers for just bathroom use, and emergency slippers in a bag just in case.
Everything is new and clean. The breakfast buffet is tremendous deal and tasty. We used the onsen twice a day . So relaxing .
This was a good jump off point for Kamikochi ( hiking) and Azumino (Daio wasabi farm).

Internal Wooden structure.
Internal Wooden structure. Information about Nihon’s feudal-Shogunate-agrarian era. Comparable to Islamic and European feudal-warrior states. People are basically the same. Different languages, beliefs, cuisines, … But human nature is same with the same problems. Same solutions too if the people in power are willing to change.

Very close to train station (less than 5-min walk). Quite a distance to Matsumoto castle. But the hotel has a bicycle (first come, first get basis).
Good amenities from DHC.
Common Microwave corner with hot/cold water machine, ice machine and japanese books for guests.
Available onsen with clear instruction.
Friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel was very close to Matsumoto Castle and Aeon Mall as well as several nice restaurants. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The room had a fridge that worked well. Parking was available 100 meters away at a reasonable price, you could come and go as you pleased at no additional charge.
Hotel provides complimentary dinner buffet, although we didn't eat there. Staff were excellent. About 5 to 10 min walk from train station, about 5 to 10 min walk to Matsumoto Castle.
The hotel is opposite to Matsumoto station. It’s easy to go to Kamikoji and other attractions: Matsumoto castle, etc. They provide the guideline - how to travel to Kamikoji. For the room, it’s so clean, not too small and has a hair dryer. The restroom has bath hub and the body shampoo, hair shampoo and conditioner of DHC. I really like them. Moreover, I love their breakfast although they are not various but they are good taste ❤️
I realize it's stated clearly here, but I was not prepared for how large this space actually is! It is a former hostel which could easily house 10-15 people across multiple bedrooms and you get to rent the whole thing! It has an unheard-of amount of space for lodging in Japan, and it also happens to be within view of Matsumoto Castle and within easy walking distance to the main draws of Matsumoto city. Definitely don't pass on this option if you are traveling with a large family. We were sad to check out.
The hotel is super clean with the entire building shoeless so you can walk bare feet on tatami floors. The hotel staff even cleaned our luggage wheel. The onsen was very nice and had all the amenities needed. We also enjoyed the Japanese style breakfast very much with lots of selections.
Photos of the room from the website matches what we see in the room which is very good.
The sightseeing places are all within walking distance, the Matsumoto castle, the old heritage street… there’s also many good restaurants near by.
This hotel looked a little too old for my liking, but I booked at the last minute and the price was good. The location is where this place shines though, because it's right across the street from Matsumoto station, and also in walking distance to Matsumoto castle.
Though the room was a little old, it was clean and the check in service was very easy and friendly.
The hotel is a typical Japanese business hotel. Rather small rooms but clean and comfy. It is about a 10 minute walk from the train station (turn left after exiting and follow main road until reaching the hotel on left). Although a bit of a walk from the train station, Matsumoto castle is just a very short walk away.
Breakfast was a simple, western style buffet with some rolls, coffee, and soup.
Spotless and efficient commuter hotel with exceptionally generous amenities, helpful staff, comfortable beds and delicious and varied breakfast. Convenient for Matsumoto’s attractive main shopping street and Ukiyo-e museum, and a short walk to historic Matsumoto castle. Room wasn’t huge, but more than enough, and the small bathroom was clean and sufficient. Better amenities than the 5 star hotels we have stayed in since.
The room, view, bed, breakfast, and the service of the hotel staff are all excellent! A few minutes walk to the Matsumoto castle and a 5-10 min walk to downtown (near Matsumoto station). Very convenient.
