Updated facilities and aesthetic was what we were looking for and private onsen. Location was not an issue and was easy to walk, taxi or bus.
We are foreigners and they had devices to translate for easier communication which was nice and accommodating.

We booked time slots at the private onsen so our family could enjoy the baths on our own. The location was convenient for Beppu's shopping arcades, dining, train station, and the bus line, helping us enjoy more of the area, including the Hells of Beppu
Huge rooms with comfortable beds. Nice cafeteria on 2nd floor for eating. Laundry includes detergent but budget extra time for drying clothes because the combo unit doesn’t dry fast. The rooftop bath is amazing. It overlooks the city and ocean. Plenty of free parking. Quick drive to Hells of Beppu. Not far to get to downtown either.

The staff was very friendly. The room beautiful and very clean. The public and private bath super! Here offered some drinks for free. Amenities like yukata, towels ok ! 👍 I was looking for a tradicional stay with local people (Japanese) and this place was a perfect choice. The location is 20 minutes from Beppu and if you want to visit the hells of Beppu is a good location. All was good, only the food, I would like to offers more variety.
Fantastic Japanese kaiseki dinner and breakfast, over expectation with lovely presentation. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice private rooftop onsen. Located in middle of the Hells of Beppu area. Walking distance to bus stop for buses to many parts of Beppu.
I loved the location and food. If you didn't get the food package, just walk around the neighborhood a little bit and there's food places everywhere. Be sure to visit the 7 hells of beppu, it was a wonder! Also our private open bath was a dream. Taking a nap with birds singing and the water flowing was the most peaceful thing I've felt in a while.
Great place to stay in Kannawa onsen. The owner Miho is super helpful and fun. She gave us lots of info on where to go. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The area is super cool with so many onsens to choose from, big puffs of steam in the streets everywhere, and the ‘hells of Beppu’ close by for a visit.
The people are too welcoming. We arrived late yet the host made time to explain to us in details what to expect around the vicinity. This includes providing map for Hyotan and explaining fees for 7 hells of Beppu. And we really appreciate the free onsen tamago by our door when we woke up.
