The stay was lovely. It was a five minute walk from Gora station. The hotel itself was very scenic. The room we got exceeded our expectations as we initially thought that it would be a small room. The room was large with a clean attached bathroom. The onsen was also clean with soap, shampoo and skin care provided. There were also refreshments and snacks for after your bath. In the evening, there was a free flow of snacks, desserts and drinks in the lounge with a nice view of the garden. Breakfast buffet was also delicious. Overall, it was a great stay.

I was upgraded to a private onsen room. But even without it, I would have still loved Hotel Senkei! It's a traditional ryokan and the ambience is so relaxing. The staff is pleasant and helpful. My room was beautiful! I would love to return to this location! The food - delicious! There's an indoor and outdoor onsens, and it's so relaxing! The Hakone area is gorgeous! I loved the walk by the river to get to this location from the Hakone-Yumoto station.
Staff were very accommodating and helpful, the openness of the common areas provided a comfortable space to relax, and the beautiful wooden interior created a cozy ambience. The facilities were modern and clean, and the included breakfast was a great way to start each day. Also very conveniently located - less than a 10 minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto station.
Very unique and special stay in a traditional Ryokan. Staff we were very friendly and helpful in explaining how everything worked. Location was great, 10 minutes from Hakone-Yumoto station and was very easy to use bus/train to explore surrounding areas. Absolutely loved having our own private onsen, was one of the highlights of the trip and definitely worth it!! Meals were large quantity, fresh and traditional, which was a great experience.
Very conveniently located in Hakone near the Hakone-Yumoto station, especially by foot. The Ryokan garden is really quite amazing, and the bath facilities are pretty great too. I went with the breakfast and dinner options during my stay, and the Japanese option was decidedly better than the western one imo, although both are pretty decent overall (although pricy).
Wonderful, attentive staff and beautiful historic facilities. Delicious and beautiful food. Magical at sunset and sunrise. Close to the Hakone-Yumoto station (it is possible to walk there in a pinch).
The ryokan inspired rooms was beautifully designed. Felt so warm, cozy yet modern at the same time. Shower was immaculate, king-size bed was unbelievably comfortable. Honestly wanted to stay in the room the whole day!! There is also a sushi restaurant within the hotel — must book in advance though, and slightly pricey. The location is also unbeatable, about a 6 minute walk from the Hakone-Yumoto station.
Really comfortable apartment that felt modern. There were good facilities to cook and wash the dishes (there was a drying rack for dishes too!). There is ample room to hang out and tables with storage space (drawers). WiFi was really good and instructions on how to use the appliances were clear. Convenience stores and Hakone-Yumoto station are fairly close (be prepared for a light workout if you are walking from the station with luggage).
