We were staying in one of the private houses, which were very decently sized for two people. The sunset was beautiful from our garden, and it’s amazing to wake up by the sea like that.

Hotel is clean, the view from the room was great.

The Wright Style is a small hotel in an even smaller village that is well located for both the southern part of the island (the Benesse museums and the beach) and the Honmura side of the island (where many of the Art House Projects are located and where you can find a supermarket and more restaurants). The sidewalks make it very easy to walk to both areas. There is also a lovely new coffee shop (Naoshima Coffee) on the way to Honmura which has spectacular views - definitely recommended. The room was very clean, pretty big by Japanese standards, and I appreciated the separate water closet. The breakfast was quite decent and the Italian restaurant (where the breakfast is served) is a great choice for dinner. We ate there one night and enjoyed it very much. As others have noted, the hotel has an agreement with the Ougiya e-bike rental on the west side of the island (where the ferry from Uno drops you) that will deliver your bags to the hotel and take them back on the day you take the ferry back to the mainland. This worked really well! And there are e-bike battery chargers in the rooms, which is a nice amenity. The staff kindly helped us make reservations for dinner at Cafe Salon Nakaouku. I would also recommend eating there - it's great and very atmospheric. All in all, this was a very nice place to experience Naoshima and I would recommend it.
