I když název by tomu nasvědčoval, nejde tak docela o novou katedrálu. Její výstavba začala v roce 1513 a dokončena byla v roce 1733, kdy dostala dnešní podobu. Přesto mají nejznámější části katedrály moderní původ. Když se podíváte blíže na její fasádu, uvidíte astronauta nebo fauna, jak jí zmrzlinu, a název Nová katedrála je tedy více než příhodný.
