It is not what I expected. Interesting but a little dull.
It is not what I expected. Interesting but a little dull. Disappointed also that the “cafe” detailed in the gate entrance to the castle is no longer inside the castle courtyard as before. Now you have to walk outside the castle, around the chapel, and back alley or entrance, to a garden courtyard that takes you to another building not associated at all with the castle. That along with the renovation going on to what seems to be the chapel, made this whole experience very unpleasant. As well, castle had not any audio machines available for our self-tour and there were no guided tours available either. Not worth it.

Well worth buying at Dublin Castle, the annual pass OPW for 30 euros to see many wonderful buildings and gardens. The castle itself is one of the tours you can take - and you see the marvelous art, as well as parts not seen by the general public.

Not easy to get the history of this establishment from the guide books.
Like many things in Dublin, it's not necessarily the dry facts but the anecdotes that accompany them that bring the history to life!

A brand new hotel, a very short walk from Dublin Castle, the Gaia Theatre, Grafton St and St. Stephen’s Sq. Great facilities and helpful, courteous front desk staff
The location was great, next to Dublin Castle and just a short walk to Temple Bar area and from Stop 10 for the Hop on HopOff Bus. Our room was great with everything we needed. Breakfast was lovely, with a selection that had something for everyone. The Bar, Coffee House and Dining Room were very good. We found some great restaurants nearby too, ie. Sole and Darwins- both excellent with lovely welcoming staff.
Great location! Walking distance to Dublin Castle, St.Patricks, Christ Church Cathedral, The National Galleries and museums. Hotel staff were delightful! Very cordial, helpful, and professional. VERY quiet in the room—obviously paid attention to sound deadening during construction. We loved it and would certainly stay again.
The property is very walkable. Places like Trinity College, Dublin castle, and Temple Bar are all just a few minutes walk. There’s also a car park just a few minutes walk from the hostel which is helpful in those big car park only areas!
The location is great. It is centrally located and within walking distance to most sights you would want to take in while in Dublin. Also, the street it is located on backs up against Dublin Castle which makes this property VERY quiet. - a rarity for Dublin.
Great spot above a nice pub right in the heart of Dublin. City Hall and Dublin Castle are across the street and the heart of the city is at your disposal.
