Stayed one night and really regretted not staying a bit longer. Beautiful and calm location on the beach. Modern, clean and comfortable room. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel & everything was really good.
One can access the hotel by a boat (the owner proposes to hop on his boat from Loutro or you can take a taxi boat-about 30€ ). It's about 40 min walk from Loutro (it was more of a mini hike rather than a stroll). You can also reach the location by car, keep in mind that it is a narrow mountain road (although in a good state), wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is scared of heights and doesn't like winding roads.

One night stay after walking the Samaria gorge so we didn't have to rush for the ferry. The accomodation is great, 2 balconies both with side view of the sea. Good air conditioning, really comfy beds. Great place to recover from the long walk. Athena was very welcoming and let us stay until 12.

It is about 17 km one way.
It is about 17 km one way. You should check weather forecast, cause if it is windy and the sea is stormy you will not be able to get back using option boat+bus. In this case you will have to go back which is OK if you are in fit (way back is an 17 km way, with altitude difference a bit less than 1000 m) or rent a room for a night which is also OK, but you'd better aware of these options.

Very good base for Samaria gorge walk. It is only 5-7 minutes by car from the national park gate. Remote, rural escape. Very quiet place, good sleep Nice rural surrounding. Parking in closed yard. Very warm and friendly welcome by hosts. Tap water is not drinkable but enough bottled water in the fridge. Well equipped kitchen, you can make your breakfast. Coffee, tea available. Good, strong wifi. TV, AC (works to warm up the room as well). Tavernas not far away. If you are lucky, you can taste liocal honey.
Lovely family run hotel. The staff is great and they even offer a shuttle service if you want to do the Samaria Gorge hike (for free!). Dinner was lovely, seemed very authentic. Would come again.
To Exari was great for our hike at Samaria Gorge. We chose to drive but the hotel offered a shuttle at 0730 and at 8 to get there. Staff was very friendly and the moussaka was really good for dinner!
It is a beautiful hotel in the mountains with great food. They pick you up after you finish the Samaria Gorge hike (from Agia Roumeli to Omalos). We were so impressed with the hotel in 2022 that we returned this year.
Customer service was phenomenal. such nice people who went above and beyond to take care of us. This is located in a quaint mountain village and ideal for hiking the Samaria Gorge. Food at the hotel restaurant was delicious!
We had a great two-night stay here. Mike met us and welcomed us warmly. He's super-friendly ... I wish we had more time to chat with him! Omalos is a peaceful, sleepy town, and the houses are a a short drive away, making them even more peaceful. It's also a short drive to get to the trailhead for Samaria Gorge / Mount Gigilos. It's very rural here, making it very charming without a trace of touristiness. There were sheep flocks all around ... happy sounds of bells and bahs made it a magical stop on our vacation :-).
The villas located in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains with tons of hiking routes, and close to Samaria Gorge trailhead.
Super helpful and responsive stuff, they helped us with luggage transfer, food for the tracking and even gave us a ride to the beginning of the trail.
The house was super clean and equipped, the pool is nice to relax in the evening after hiking.
The place has a restaurant that serves tasty home made food.
