Absolutely spot on for location, right opposite the exit of Taunton railway station. Beautiful building, nice to see some tradition in a hotel. Greeted as soon as walked in through the door by the receptionist. Fast check in. The room is comfortable, I had a view of the railway station. Very comfortable bed and pillows. I slept very well and didn't hear anything until the stirring noises associated with breakfast calling.Filter coffee and tea. Bathroom was spotless, shower - brilliant. Spacious bedroom with a nook area (desk, chair and electric sockets)so if you wanted to work you could do so .
Breakfast, I have an intolerance to Gluten. And in no way am I going to dis the hotel, by now I should know to message the hotel prior to arrival. But, the staff accommodated me extremely well. Checked the list of Ingredients and conjured up a fantastic breakfast. I would definitely return to this hotel, service, attitude and professionalism towards the client was top notch.

Was where we needed to be and full marks to the lady who sorted out the TV's for a number of residents to watch the Euros football final together which made for a nice atmosphere Room was well appointed and the bed a good size. Really good value for money

Convenient for our purpose ( Somerset Cricket Ground) well laid out and plenty of parking. Nice reception are with areas for seating and ordering food and drink.

Check in went smoothly and room was between levels and first thing I observed was had quite a dated feel to the carpets and decor which was fine as it is an old castle. My room was quite spacious and actually had an old style room key which is quite unusual. The air conditioning worked well which was great as it was a very warm evening.
