Shore Hotel Laxey, hotel in Douglas

The breakfast was very good. the technology in the hotel is so over the top. We do not need a toilet seat that lifts up when you enter the bathroom. There were reading lights on both sides of the bed but a switch on only one side which made it difficult for one person to read later than the other but not be able to switch the light off without getting out of bed and walking to the other side and then walking back in the dark.. We could not understand the TV as it was far too complicated

Convenient location within walking distance of the ferry terminal. Close to the Manx Museum, beach and downtown. Hot English breakfast was excellent in a lovely dining room with a view over the sea front. The room was large with a large bathroom. It was nice to have a kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. The staff were helpful with details about travel.

I spent more time in the museum than I expected to.

I spent more time in the museum than I expected to. It's not large, but it's packed with information in well laid out sections - geology, art, early history, involvement in the world wars, local culture and cultural history, etc. Some of it would interest kids.
