Fell short in the bedroom. There was only one chair and a mountain of cushions. There were inadequate power sockets and a WC that needs attention. The shower over the small bath was a bit dangerous. We did enjoy our stay, but would not stay there again unless some updates were made.

On a road trip through Devon and Cornwall to see gardens and historic homes, we found the grounds and the common rooms of the hotel to be lovely. Keep in mind - those are free to see and do not require an expensive stay. A few glitches during the stay were later written to the hotel management who took the time to respond with apologies for the concerns and used those to help prepare for future guests. I would suggest taking the time to look at the website for room choices and consider booking directly with the hotel where staff can answer questions on costs, accommodations and expectations.

The Widemouth Manor is a warm friendly pub/ hotel and looks out over the sandy bay which is famous for its surfing. Just off the A39, access to Devon and Cornwall could not be better.

Staff was helpful.
The room was comfortable and spacious, the bathroom was clean and huge, the breakfast was good.The building is situated at the foot of Launceston Castle and the rolling valleys. Great location.
Lovely grade 2 listed building, with all the quirks you would expect. Stunning views and right next to Launceston Castle. Asked for a room move as our original room had very low ceilings and given another room straight away.
I love Location and how easy navigating around the small town of Launceston. You can also overlook the Launceston Castle and can easily walk with no issues. Plus, Ziggy and Emma are both friendly and approachable. Recommendable.
The location adjacent to the Launceston Castle and the old town was convenient and made these within easy walking distance. Dinner on the terrace was pleasant and the views of the surrounding country side attractive.
