Karen and Pete were really great hosts. We were welcomed very warmly with tea and scones. Our room was lovingly furnished and had everything we needed, tea and coffee supplies included and a very nice bathroom. The breakfast was delicious and the beautiful old Mill House lies right next to Dunster Mill and right below Dunster Castle. The beautiful medieval village is definitely worth visiting! There are also several nice pubs and stores and we recommend a visit to the beautiful Church of St. George. Thank you for everything!
Nicely done, nice old stable room we stayed in with our own entrance, really comfy bed! , really helpful hosts nothing too much when need some advice, they let us park up in their carpark before checkin to explore dunster castle which is worth the entrance fee we did 15,000 steps just walking around, breakfast at the hotel was perfect left full
Tessa and her son George are amazing hosts.
They made us feel very welcome and were very knowledgeable about the local area.
The rooms were a nice size with a large, clean bathroom.
The beds were comfortable and well made.
Breakfast was amazing. We also had lunch in the garden, which was well presented and great value for money.
The Olde house is very central, ideal for a visit to Dunster Castle, we were very lucky to find on street parking opposite.
Highly recommended. Definitely be back soon.
The building inside was .amazing and so very old and interesting. Our bedroom was a medieval hall with hammerbeam ceiling and full of interesting features. All the Hotels Staff were really nice and friendly. There was a really good garden which had a gate into Dunster park. The garden overlooked the village roofs and Dunster Castle, and was on level with the first floor bedrooms and easily accessible from upstairs. This is a dog friendly hotel and there were good features for the dog owners, i.e. towels near doors.
Fabulous Location
Hotel steeped in history set in Medieval Village of Dunster together with spectacular views of Dunster Castle whilst sitting outside within the hotel grounds/garden.
Stunning rooms
Cosy and tastfully decorated throughout.
Coffee & Tea facilities supplying local biscuits and fridge with water
Staff very helpful....service excellent and efficient and professional at all times.
Very Good Menu and evening meal superb.
Great choice for Breakfast which was excellent.
Lovely, spacious cottage. Some beautiful features and quite quirky. Very comfortable beds. Extremely well equipped with everything you need in the kitchen. Pretty garden with stream running through it. Nice under floor heating in the bathroom. Walking distance to Dunster Castle.
The room was clean and tidy with a lovely large bathroom. The quirkiness of the room made our stay more enjoyable. The location was ideal for visiting Dunster Castle and the local area. Breakfast was wonderful and George went the extra mile to provide a calm environment.
The room was spacious, we had the twin which although not ensuite has a bathroom with an excellent shower nearby for sole use. The view was out over the stream and countryside. It was quiet and yet right next to the watermill, an entrance for Dunster Castle. We particularly appreciated the fridge in the hallway which is where the supply of fresh milk for each room was kept.
Dunster Castle Hotel is a picturesque, historical building in the middle of what has to be one of the most attractive villages we have ever visited in England. The hosts were friendly, attentive and went out of the way to make us welcome. The breakfast was exceptional--we were spoiled for choice--and the room was extremely clean and comfortable.
The location is excellent, very close to one of the entrances to Dunster Castle and also to a lovely open garden. The key safe worked well and it was easy to collect the keys. This is a duplex apartment - ie on 2 floors and nice for us to go upstairs to shower and to sleep. Its got a large comfy lounge, and also tables at which to eat or work. The kitchen has everything one needs & it has quality equipment & plates, mugs etc. It was cool in the very hot weather.
Nice to have a car parking space reserved for the appartment.
