The view was scenic.
The view was scenic. It is a large park so wear comfortable shoes and have back up camera or charger to recharge if you are in to photography. I visited in the fall so I guarantee you that it would be far vibrant in the summer or spring. Enjoy.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Provided me locations of restaurants and groceries nearby. Also booked me a cab for when I had to leave the hotel at 5 in the morning (7AM flight). Location was close to the metro stop with 3 lines so it was easy to get to no matter where you were. Close to Retiro Park.

The hotel is situated in a quiet area near the Retiro Park, close to metro. Hotel is clean with kind and helpful staff. The rooms are a little bit small, but they have everyting you need. The food in the restaurant is very good.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Many great sites to visit are a maximum 30 mins walk away. I had no trouble walking to Palacio Real, Museo del Prado and Retiro park. There were a couple of interesting smaller museums nearby as well. There are many, many good food and drink options right out front which seemed pretty popular with the locals. My driver from the airport actually raved about what a good location it was.
Hostal Triana is at the heart of Madrid's center, which makes it easier to get to all the tourist spots in Madrid from the shopping center of Gran Via to Retiro Park. Metro stops are all over the areas, too, which makes it even easier to navigate this bustling metropolis.

The room was sufficient and clean. I’d recommend taking the $20-$30 upgrade to the larger room with a balcony and view (which my father had).

This hotel is located on an especially quiet street within Recoletas. It is near Retiro Park at roughly the northeast corner of El Centro, which contains most of the main tourist sites and promenades. Very pleasant stay. Room's soft-lighting option and kitchenette were handy, and there were grocery stores in the neighborhood. Some restaurants were nearby and a few interesting sites, but the area's is mainly the cafes by the Plaza de la Independencia. Many fine somewhat-old buildings nearby, in excellent state of repair.
This is a quiet hotel and elegant, located in an ideal spot to visit many of the places of interest; The plaza mayor is about 8 minutes walk away and the beautiful El Retiro park 10 minutes. There are plenty of cafeterias close buy for breakfast and restaurants lunch and dinner.
