All roads lead to Plaza Mayor. Enjoy the ambience, wander around, take plenty of photos but do not buy anything. Over priced tourist tat. Do not be tempted to wander into any cafe, bar or restaurant - over priced and not the real Spain. Make an effort to go where the locals go and you'll see the difference.

Magnificent Plaza. Just go get a cup of coffee and people watch for 2 hours. That's why I would do again and again. Great Architecture, great atmosphere, just a great place to watch the world go by.

Location is perfect. There are many eating places within 1 minute walking distance. We were within a 7 minute leisurely walk to the metro and Gran Via. East walk to Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor as well.
Jaimie was exceptional. Very prompt and clear communication, met us at check-in to review everything, ordered our airport transfer, provided a list of local places to eat, and answered all of our questions.
The apartment was in a secure building in a great location near the Plaza Mayor, many restaurants, the market San Miguel and a Dai supermarket. Also plenty of taxis nearby. We had a kitchen was well equipped.
Location was perfect! In the middle of vibran area and walking distance to cool restaurants and caffes. We were walking mostly everywhere, because it's a 20ish minutes walk to Plaza Mayor through the interesting neighbourhood.

The hotel is located in a small street off Grand Via, the theater street. The other touristy streets are Sol and Plaza Mayor. Easy access to metro, which is an important transportation to anywhere. I like the breakfast, the ambience. I think formerly it was Best Western, so I have confidence in the hotel.
This property exceeded our expectations. The location was central to everything in Madrid and the staff was extremely helpful. We were walking distance to Plaza Major which is a beautiful plaza in itself but is near everything. A short taxi or bus ride will bring you anywhere you want. Very modern hotel with great amenities including kitchen and working air conditioner/heater. Definitely a hotel to consider for your travels. My wife and I will go back to Plaza Mayor Suites and Apartments the next time we are in Madrid.
The location of hotel is perfect, on a quaint little street lined with restaurants and walking distance to the busier areas such as Plaza Mayor etc. The room is very clean and all the staff are polite and helpful. Favorite part of the room is the balcony.
Very close to plaza mayor in old town. Walk a little more to el sol station and area becomes more modern.
Room is kind of small if you have a lot of luggage. The A/C did not cool enough for our liking but it was bearable. Nice little area inside hotel to enjoy complimentary coffee and cookies.
We stayed in a superior double room with city view (of the Ronda de Atocha). Not at all noisy, though. The bed was comfortable. The accommodation was adequate but not at all luxurious. The staff were all very helpful. The hotel was very convenient for Estacion Madrid Puerta de Atocha, also for access to Reina Sofia Museum, The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, the Prado, and the Botanic Gardens. It is not far from Plaza Mayor. The rock memorabilia in the lounge was mildly entertaining.
