All roads lead to Plaza Mayor.
All roads lead to Plaza Mayor. Enjoy the ambience, wander around, take plenty of photos but do not buy anything. Over priced tourist tat. Do not be tempted to wander into any cafe, bar or restaurant - over priced and not the real Spain. Make an effort to go where the locals go and you'll see the difference.

Magnificent Plaza. Just go get a cup of coffee and people watch for 2 hours. That's why I would do again and again. Great Architecture, great atmosphere, just a great place to watch the world go by.

Popular plaza for souvenirs or a local snack. We tried Calamari on a bun called Calamares for only 2.95 euros in a charming little tavern which advertising in the window. Just around the corner in a large Tapas hall, Calamares were 6.5 euros. I can recommend the Fruit sticks there for only 2 euros. Segway guided tours are offered across from the Tapas. Great way to see any city. If you have not done this before they are seriously easy to control & ride.

The apartment is located in the heart of the city, just few steps away from Plaza Mayor and 10 minutes from the Palace. It is well furnished, spacious and have all the facilities to cook, wash and rest. The air-condition is very quiet and works well. The customer service is just exceptional. The communication is instant and the check in seamless. We have received a mini tour guide with the most important places to visit. We had a great time and will come back again.
perfect localization , very close to Plaza del Sol and Plaza Mayor Ideal for visiting whole center. Spacious modern ( looking very new and fresh) apartment with 2 nice badrooms ( comfortable large bads) separated from the rest with glass walls. Well equiped kitchen for those who like to cook during vacations. Even if there is no reception and you need register and help yourself at the aprtment but any time ( even at night) you could call the help desk and they have been always very helpful and ready to send staff very quickly.
Atico is in a bustling location, close to Plaza Mayor and lots of great restaurants. It is a good size apartment. There is everything you could need to be self sufficient while travelling around. The host communicates well during your stay.
The location of the apartment was outstanding - there were lovely bars and restaurants within 5 minutes walk, Mercado San Miguel and Plaza Mayor in less than 10 minutes stroll. We could easily walk to a metro station for further afield places.
The apartment was large and very well appointed, lots of good facilities and thoughtful extras included.
Had a great stay in this hotel. 100 metres from Plaza Mayor. Such a great location. Staff were excellent. We had an issue with our shower when we arrived and were upgraded to a better room. Thanks to staff for sorting this out.
The location is absolutely prime in Madrid.

Don't go to any of the "eat as much as you can".
Don't go to any of the "eat as much as you can". It was the only tourist trap we encountered. North to Plaza Mayor street you'll find very good and fancy restaurants. South to this street you will find great othentic Spanish and south American restaurants and a little bit further you'll find real othentic and very good chinese restaurants.
