Can you count the shells? This 16th-century palace is covered in them. It was built by Don Rodrigo Arias de Maldonado – a knight from the Order of Santiago de Compostela. The order's symbol is the seashell, and he thought it’d be perfect to have them all over his palace. The result is Casa de Conchas, a seashell-studded marvel.

Wonderful experience and wonderful views.
Wonderful experience and wonderful views. It is up quite a steep hill. We went on foot but you can also catch one of the small red buses, certainly C32 - I think that there is another one as well. Head for St Nicholas square and you will see a view to die for!

Enjoyed exploring the maze of alleys, got lost a few times but that's ok. We acquired several street maps, the best for us was the one given to us by the tourist office. Good views from Pl.Carvajales and Pl.S.Nicolas.

Whether you're inside Alhambra, or looking at it from the outside; it is awe inspiring. Some of the best views of the Alhambra are from the Albaicin neighbourhood. And while the Mirador San Nicholas is the more popular places, head up further to Mirador San Miguel. Admittedly, it is a bit of a climb. But the climb is completely worth it. Don't forget to soak in the beauty of the neighbourhood as you're walking though. It is as beautiful

The Albaicin, or more correctly Albayzin, is the old muslim part of the town. Very atmospheric is however a place to be avoided after sunset, especially by women. At anytime stay away from the area around Mirador San Nicolas, where pickpockets abound.

What a lovely place to walk around and explore.
What a lovely place to walk around and explore. At night there's the hustle and bustle of the shops lower down the hill, but walk a little bit up you end up in alleys and gorgeous doorways. Also glimpses of the Alhambra at night. Perfect for a great photo in some location. We also climbed higher during the day and had a great view of the city.

Use the application GPSmycity for a wonderful self-guided tour in Albaicin. Go with the bus to the highest point and hike down the area for amazing views and cultural impressions of the old arab houses. Finish your tour with a Flamenco show at one of the Gipsies Caves in ElSacramonte. You will have one of the remarkables days of your lifes.
Renato was great! He offered great
Recommendations and is Very communicative. The location in Albaicin is very unique and cool. The apartment is nice as well!
Lovely apartment in a good neighbourhood
Very well connected to public transport but also very walkable to albaicin and the city center
The kitchen was fairly equipped with essentials
The floors were a little bit dusty
But overall everything was good
Located in the heart of the Albaicin, which is a unique walking experience. The terrace view is amazing (but better suited for warmer weather). The apartment was well appointed and had everything our large group needed. The manager was very responsive and helpful with recommendations for places to park, eat, etc.
Location - easy walk for us to the Albaicín and to Sacromonte to see all the cave dwellings, day trips via bus and for Flamenco. We love Granada.
Hotel is very clean, comfortable, superb housekeeping, nice front desk staff. Good size rooms and love that the bedroom and even the bathroom have doors and small verandas for some air, plus the doors do block some of the noise from the cafes on Calle Navas tapas street below - noise is happy noise. We generally don’t stay in hotels smack in the middle of activity, but this one was lovely.
The location is perfect. Close to every place in the most historic district in Granada. The apartment is in the Albaicin, next to Darro river, where they have restaurants, supermarket, stores. Walking distance to the Sacromonte to watch the best flamenco shows. Excelent shower and living room. Carmen was very attentive. They gave us a complimentary bottle of wine and some candies and local beer. Kitchen had what we needed to cook breakfast everyday. Everything perfect.
The hostel’s location was excellent, within walking distance of Granada’s key attractions like the Alhambra and Albaicín. The rooftop terrace offered stunning views of the city, creating a peaceful spot to unwind after sightseeing. The staff was welcoming and provided great tips for exploring Granada.
The hotel was very authentic, a true Albaicin residence. It was so charming, with original details and a beautiful inner courtyard. Great location for touring the Alhambra and touring Granada and the Albaicin.
Great location, in the heart of the Albaicín and steps away from the Cathedral and most of the Granada attractions.
Our room had a view over the Plaza Nueva and the Alcazaba (one of the Alhambra’s monument).
Very spacious, three windows, excellent air conditioning, full bathroom.
Very kind and responsive staff.
Don’t hesitate to book Plaza Nueva Hotel, it’s the place to live your Granada experience and live a magnificent vacation as we did.
So friendly staff. They gave us clear instructions to get to the hotel by car and useful information about the sightseeing in Granada.
The location is excellent ! It in the heart of the historical city Albaicin.
