This is probably the best hotel along the Malecon (waterfront) in Santo Domingo. It's within walking distance of all of Gascue. However, it is a bit of a hike from the Colonial Zone. Clean, modern, and well run.
The location was excellent. It was within walking distance to the Malecon, however I would not walk there at night. It was also right next to a restaurant that had an amazing vibe and decent food. There was also another restaurant a few blocks down to the left of the hotel that had inexpensive delicious Dominican food.
the location is perfect! everything is walking distance (the Malecon, and all the zona colonial area ) the staff it’s friendly and overall it’s a nice hotel for the price.
I like the hostel vibes and then the awesome free morning breakfast which was a total bonus. Yes the location is close to markets, restaurants, colmados, Zona Colonial, clubs and the malecon. You can't find a better place to meet and interact with other travelers from all around the world. The dorm rooms were comfortable and the washroom and showers clean. The pool is cute quite cozy in fact.
The hotel is well located, very close to the malecon and within walking distance of the old town. I was in Santo Domingo to renew my Residency and it is a short drive direct along the malecon to the Immigration office. It is very good value for money.

Location is just great, it is right on Malecon and within walking distance from this small amusement park.
Beware of your surroundings at night though, area can be sketchy when the crowds leave. Don't walk around alone.
Hotel itself was great and exceeded our expectations. They had parking off the street, which was a great bonus. Bed were comfortable and AC was cold and working great.
We are actually staying there again next weekend :)
Blue Malecon is a lovely hotel at the heart of Santo Domingo. I reallly loved the service - Enea at the reception was just the most helpful and nice person! The room is small but sweet, it has everything you need (including Netflix!). What also surprised me was HOW good the breakfast was. Yum-yum:)
This is a beautiful Colonial Architecture Villa, amazing little gem close to the Malecon and Parque Independencia in the heart of Zona Colonial. The staff is super nice and helpful and will make sure you're comfortable here.
I really enjoyed the pool and the walk on “El Conde”, the beautiful neighborhood. I spent my first day in SD here and I'm really happy with my hotel choice.
I highly recommend this place, can't say enough good stuff about it :)
