Porta Nigra
The coral fields of Jemeluk are an Indonesian national treasure. Unlike other reefs in Amed, they remain unspoilt by human hands. Local dive shops offer traditional Jukung boat rides to the best sites and let you drift with the mild current that flows across the bay. Pack your macro-photo lens and you might just capture the rare mimic octopus or ghost pipefish…

As i was staying just out of town, across the river mosel, i passed this many times and found myself just as enraptured by it each time. On the last night I got a beer in the bar opposite and looked at it in the floodlight wondering why it was so fascinating. It is very worthwhile to go inside as well; the views of trier from inside are the best introduction to the city. Just one of those buildings you cannot take your eyes off and weirdly lovable.

Very conveniently situated just outside the centre of Trier, by the Porta Nigra. Very modern style, good private parking opposite the hotel. There is a lift to the upper floors. Comfortable beds.
The apartment was really clean (thanks to the cleaning ladies) and cozy and comfy. Only a 20 min foot walk away from the Porta Nigra, this apartment was everything it promised: clean, well equipped kitchen and a stay like home. Will definitely stay here again.
Excellent location directly next to Porta Nigra. The breakfast is very good for a hotel of its size. Free drinks and free parking at the lot down the street. Very high ceilings and the rooms get good amount of natural light.
Parking space was really useful, and Roschel went out of his way to accommodate us. Apartment is lovely, and it's right at the start of the pedestrian shopping and nightlife restaurant precinct, so handy! The main Roman tourist attractions; Porta Nigra, Imperial Baths, Basilica of Constantine are all within walking distance in the pedestrian zone ... brilliant!
The hotel's location is fantastic, situated right in front of the iconic Porta Nigra and within walking distance to the center of Trier. This makes it an ideal spot for exploring the city's historic landmarks and attractions.
The location was great, close to everything. You can go walking to Porta Nigra, the Dom and Marx House.
The apartment was extremely clean and the terrace is great.
The location was superb! Very close to Karl-Marx Haus and not much further from the Porta Nigra. Connectivity from the hotel's position to different parts of the cities is also quite convenient. The market district is close too.
We loved the location (pedestrian zone near restaurants/shopping) and view from the room (right outside the Porta Nigra!), how well-equipped the apartment was (great shower, coffee machine, kitchen supplies, etc.), and especially the beds! My husband is very picky about beds, and he said these beds were the most comfortable he's slept in during our 2-week road trip vacation through France/Belgium/Germany.

Porta Nigra is impressive, just stand underneath it and imagine it has been there for 2000 years. Don't forget the impressive church and the nice (partly) medieval houses.

You have 2000 years of history with the basilica and the Roman ruins, the various churches and private buildings. The baths are worth a tour and kids will love runni9ng about through the tunnels. Frankly, the Porta Nigra was a disappointment, don't pay to go in, and don't buy anything there. The staff was less than friendly.
