As i was staying just out of town, across the river mosel, i passed this many times and found myself just as enraptured by it each time. On the last night I got a beer in the bar opposite and looked at it in the floodlight wondering why it was so fascinating. It is very worthwhile to go inside as well; the views of trier from inside are the best introduction to the city. Just one of those buildings you cannot take your eyes off and weirdly lovable.

The location was excellent. It was a ten-minute walk from the train station straight down the street to the hotel, which is sitting right next to the Porta Nigra (one of the most important sites in Trier). It is also at the beginning of the pedestrian zone. Perfect for someone arriving by train, but they also have free parking if you come by car. The breakfast was also excellent with lots of options, and there is no problem getting gluten-free options. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Great value.
Always a great small hotel in Trier! Always very friendly staff! So close to Porta Nigra and to the beautiful Christmas market! We love Trier and this hotel! Parking is convenient, breakfast is sufficient and there is an elevator to get you up the floors to your nice, clean room!

The room is quiet, it's in a terrific location. Staff were incredibly friendly. The hotel is within walking distance to Porta Nigra, the Amphitheater and the Kaiserthermen, as well as many many restaurants. Depending on how much you're carrying, the train station is a leisurely 10-15 minute walk.

The owners were very friendly and supportive, they allowed us to keep our suitcase for a few hours until we return from a walk and take it to the railway station. They had the best breakfast of all 12 hotels I used during my trip to Germany. So much to choose from, and so good. As far as location is concerned - just looking out the windows from where the breakfast buffet is - one gets the best picture of the Porta Nigra, one of Trier's main sights, at the beginning of the pedestrian zone. What could be better?
