Beautiful hike through a special terrain, though I find it a bit galling to spend 5 euros each to walk through nature. Crowds up to the first bit was annoying, as well as the utterly pointless horse carriages, which really don't belong in this century. After the gorge (which was very impressive) you should carry on walking. There are wonderful 10 km round hikes along and above the river in several directions, and basically nobody does them!
p.s. Lose the hideous plastic barriers at the gorge guys, it's supposed to be nature, not an inner city building site...

It's a tad wet.
It's a tad wet. There are a few spots that are dark - I just used my cell phone flashlight to make sure my kids weren't spooked. But it was amazing and not to be missed. Do not think you can park closer to the trail head - it's not happening. Just suck it up, and start walking. Totally worth it. There is a WONDERFUL little restaurant another 20 minutes up the mountain with delicious food, wonderful (English proficient) employees where you can rest, refuel, and then find your way to a little gondola to go down the mountain quickly and cheaply.

Beautifully appointed apartments, tastefully decorated and fully functional place complete with a fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher and washing machine/dryer. We had the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment which was so spacious we could have 8 person's in the apartment for dinner comfortably. Location was spot on, right next to Zugspitze and minutes away by foot to restaurants, supermarkets and shops. Partnachklamm was 5 mins away and Kolbensattel only 25 mins. The eatery with the same name next door is an amazing breakfast place too!

Awesome hotel with a cool terrace and a view to the ski jumping arena. Rooms are spacious and clean. We arrived after working hours, and we got our keys in an envelope attached to the entrance door, very convenient.

Spacious and comfortable 2 bedroom unit with mountain views from every window, even though this unit was not the top storey. Kind and helpful host who provided the local guest cards for free travel in the region, which was amazing. About a 15 minute walk from the main train station, and short walk to shops. The deposit transfer arrangement worked well. This region is beautiful, we visited the Zugspitz, Ettal, Linderhof, and walked the Partnachklamm gorge. Very enjoyable stay.
We really liked the house, it was comfortable and cosy. The house is equipped with everything you need and is perfectly located. It is a 10-minute walk to the Olympic ski stadium, 15-20 minutes to the centre of Partenkirchen and about 25-30 minutes to the Partnachklamm entrance
The apartments were located at the best spot close to Partnachklamm. Our apartment was on the second floor and had a great view of the mountains. We could see Zugspitze from our balcony. All the facilities were great and the property was hence very comfortable.
great location right at the bus station, rooms were big and comfy. tourist card provided by the hotel was able to get us around to Partnachklamm gorge and Zugspitze, our main places of interest. breakfast was great!

We felt so welcome and the guy in the reception gave us a tour around the hotel to show us everything from the breakfast room to the "bar" and the common room. The breakfast was perfect, and the hotel is a short walk to the city centre, and a short drive to the Olympic stadion and Partnachklamm.
