We stayed here for just one night before our early morning ascent to Zugspitze. The staff’s kindness and attentiveness were exceptional—making us feel as if we were staying in a luxury hotel.
The rooms were cozy and full of character, with a warm, traditional style reminiscent of a classic Austrian lodge. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated with attention to detail and a sense of rich heritage, adding to its welcoming charm.

The group of women running the property made our stay incredibly comfortable. Their friendliness, warmth, and constant smiles create a welcoming atmosphere, which is especially appreciated when you’ve traveled far from home. The property is located in a peaceful area, just a 5-minute walk from the central station, and our room offered lovely mountain views. There’s also a cozy little backyard. Whether you’re staying alone or with family for a longer period, these touches add great value. While the breakfast is simple, as expected from a B&B, it’s more than adequate—I particularly enjoyed the yogurt, nuts, and avocado toast with veggies and eggs. The black coffee is also quite good. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, with comfortable beds, though they are double beds rather than a king or queen size.We stayed here in the 3rd week of Oct-2024.
The 4-star superior hotel has been family-run since 1634 and offers an indoor swimming pool, various saunas, steam baths, a children's playground and a cosy lounge.

I went to this hotel with my partner for our (mid) 3 year anniversary and we loved every moment of it:
-Location was absolutely perfect! A traditional small german town, so there's a lot of great food but if you get tired of the Bavarian flavor, then there is an asian restaurant and an Indian one.
-The hotel is a walking distance from everything; a grocery store, a pharmacy, souvenir shops..etc
-Staff were AMAZING: I appreciated that even though we had to leave our booking 1 day earlier than planned, the amazing man at the reception gave us a 40 Euro discount!
-Super super quiet at night. This is amazing considering if you live in a big city, you know how annoying the street sounds can be! (so amazing sleep, super comfortable and cozy).
-There was parking for our rental car indoors which made it so much easier than finding parking by the hotel.
-Breakfast was sooo nice! We had it every day when we were there when we usually don't care too much for it! (those german sausages!! YUM!)
Overall such a wonderful experience. Would 100% stay again!

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Friendly staff, lovely food in the restaurant and an extensive choice at breakfast. The Fire Suite was spacious and spotlessly clean. At the foot of Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain, Garmisch-Partenkirchen is one of the country’s top ski resorts. The Bavarian style of its Alpine chalets includes beautiful flowers lining every balcony, and colourful frescoes adorning the outsides of houses.
The varied skiing and snowboarding in the surrounding Alps is based mainly on blue and red runs. To ski on the Zugspitze glacier you take a train up to the mountain then a cable car down to the slopes. The summit itself offers magnificent views of the valleys below, provided you’re lucky enough to get a break in the clouds.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a former host of the Winter Olympics and the World Alpine Ski Championships. It also has a ski jump that forms part of the world cup of that sport. In summer hiking is the most popular activity and a lengthy route leads up to King’s House on Schachen, a supposed castle that looks more like a house.
It was built for Ludwig II, the eccentric king behind the region’s most impressive castle – Neuschwanstein to the north-west of Garmisch. The road between them passes by Oberammergau, famous for its 10-yearly Passion Plays.
Accommodation in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on Booking.com includes 4-star hotels near the train station, traditional guest houses near Partnach Gorge, and cheap apartments with parking.

Great location as a base for seeing the surrounding area. Having a Guest Card to use local buses for free is wonderful. GaPa is very beautiful town with lots of things to do.
GaPa is very beautiful town with lots of things to do. Outdoor activities are probably the main reason to get there, there's are lots of routes to hike or rent a bike and go cycling. Zugspitze is a place to visit of course, but other mountains are definitely worth visiting too. City feels safe and populated, no dark shallow streets. When you get there as a tourist you pay 3 €/day to your accommodation, and you get the Guest Card that allows you to travel with the local buses for free. The places are though very much within walking distance almost everywhere.

We enjoyed the location in Partenkirchen best because it was more quiet than Garmisch. The bus line enabled us to go where we wanted. Including the cog rail to Zugspitze, Partnachklamm and Eisbee. We had dinner more than once at Gasthof Zum Rassen on Ludwigstrasse because the food was authentic and the owner "Barbara" was not only a talented chef, but welcomed us warmly. Also on Friday evenings the local children dance authentic German dances for the visitors at 7pm in from of the restaurant on Ludwigstrasse. We could walk to the Wank cable car and had a scenic breakfast there. We would love to return to GAP.

Our family recently spent four delightful days in Garmisch-...
Our family recently spent four delightful days in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and it was an experience to remember! This charming Bavarian town is incredibly easy to navigate, making it a breeze to explore all its wonderful sites. The weather was simply perfect in the middle of summer.
The public transportation system is efficient and conveniently located, which made getting around and venturing into the surrounding areas hassle-free by bus, train, foot or bike. It's also pet-friendly which is perfect for your traveling furry companion.
One of the highlights of our stay was the abundance of fantastic restaurants and cafes. Whether you’re in the mood for traditional Bavarian cuisine or something more international, there’s something to satisfy every palate. Each meal was a culinary delight, and the cozy cafes provided the perfect spots to relax and soak in the local atmosphere and sample the various selections of beer and spritz. Of particular to highlight were the wonderful Gasthaus zur Schranne which by far was our favorite, Hoffman's Bistro & Wafflehouse, and Cafe Max. Just be sure to call ahead for reservations as some of these places can be quite popular.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen also serves as an excellent home base for exploring the stunning natural beauty of the region. From the majestic Zugspitze to the serene Eibsee, there are countless opportunities for outdoor adventures. The town itself is surrounded by breathtaking mountain views, making every moment feel like a postcard come to life.
Overall, my stay in Garmisch-Partenkirchen was nothing short of wonderful. It’s a destination that offers the perfect blend of convenience, culinary delights, and natural beauty. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable getaway from the busy city!

Pools - large indoor and good size outdoor with the views of mountains peeping through everywhere ! This was great feature of our stay. Fun and relaxing!
Afternoon coffee and cake was a nice touch and very welcome after a long journey.
Staff were helpful and accommodating throughout. Hotel was too busy for us to book last minute support so reception recommended and booked a meal for us at nearby place.
Great breakfast. Lots of choice.
Very close to cable car - short stroll for the zugspitze round trip.
Staff at check-in were excellent. We were greeted with champagne and a towel, and the experience was very positive. They couldn't have been more helpful and assisted us with all our needs.
The hotel is a German chalet style and was very comfortable and furnished in local style. We were given great advice about local connections and attractions. It was a great place stay before going up Zugspitze.
It was a perfect and the best trip in my life! My wife had a birthday and the hotel personal was very cute and helped me to prepare a surprise) flowers, champagne and etc… Gentle personal showed facilities and told me all tips about the city, where and what to find! Highly recommend this hotel! The highest score!
I like the surrounding neighborhood very much! beautiful area to take a walk, especially along the river and there is a nice little museum across from the hotel. The mini refrigerator keeps things cold which I appreciated. Host is nice and staff friendly.
