Market Square
Bruges is like a fairytale, and the Markt is no exception. The true heart of the city, this romantic square is surrounded by ornate architecture, impressive statues and cobblestone streets. The colourful buildings house restaurants and bars, perfect for a cool beer as you watch the world go by. Once the sun sets, walk amidst the twinkling street lights, drinking in the beauty.

I loved our trip to Bruge and would thoroughly recommend a visit or two but you shouldn't go there for the Christmas Market because you'll be disappointed. We have been to many Christmas Markets and whilst the atmosphere is lovely the shopping is pretty poor.

Beatiful House near market square, It has everything you need and the owner gives you all the details to have the best experience in Brugges. A great place to stay. And also has a pool with warm water!!
Location was fantastic. A few minutes walk to market square, high street and the canal. Room exceeded my expectations. It was spacious was a lovely modern bathroom. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. Would 100% stay again. Thank you!
Our room, on the top floor, was small but comfortable and functional. The only issue is it had a sloping roof beside the bed and if you are a tall person you could well hit your head during the night if you got up quickly!
The location could not be better. It is 2 minutes walk to Market Square and the historic town. The breakfast was fine.
The hotel was in a lovely location really close to the market square. It looked lovely and was a friendly comfortable place. Very relaxing environment with attentive staff. Breakfast very very nice with loads of choice. Good choice of restaurants nearby. Able to park the car at the hotel for an extra charge and pre booking. Really nice coffee in the rooms.
Perfect for a one night stay with the kids. Amazing location looking over the market square in a good sized room. This isn't a chain hotel but it is a good, clean room for a bargain price.
The hotel is perfectly situated next to a canal and within easy walking distance of the Market Square and all city centre facilities and attractions. The hotel offered paid secure parking, but be aware that the spaces are tight. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is very clean and fresh.
Great hospitality by the staff, especially during breakfast. Room#20 was spacious and quiet with nice old-feeling decoration. The hotel location is superbly close to the Market Square. The city provides a free shuttle bus to and from the central station every 20 minutes with a stop very close to the hotel.
Fabulous hotel in excellent position overlooking market Square. Near all attractions and restaurants. Staff very friendly, beds comfortable and bathroom spotless. Breakfast very good and plentiful. Would recommend to anyone.
The hotel is very close to the station like 3 mins walk and is very neat and clean
And a 23 mins walk to the market square which is also a very beautiful walk
It’s good value for money

There are a ton of tourists from all over, but still seems to be a ton of locals, all living in perfect harmony. The locals, and Belgians in general, are so incredibly friendly and helpful. There seems to be no antipathy toward tourists, quite the opposite. It's interesting to watch both tourists and locals alike completely caught up in the same feeling, energy, vibe just being in the Market square creates. I can't wait to go back for Christmas Market. As I heard in a movie once, Bruges really is a fairy tale land.

Head east/north-east from the market square to see a much quieter part of town, though still with sights to see including a set of four windmills on an open green.
