The excellent restoration of this magnificent Victorian building shows how clever and considerate are the owners. They have incorporated luxury comfort without losing the features of the building, and the modern extension to the property blends seamlessly. Throughout the place are cosy reading nooks and a marvellous and eclectic selection of fabulous books, art and memorabilia, placed always to enhance the sense of design. The owners are warm and friendly and add to the overall sense of welcome and serenity. The weekend continental breakfast was excellent. Overall we felt a sense of calm in this lovely place.

Jackie is AWESOME. The first room I had was very small and in a corner. I mentioned it was rather small. She offered another room type. She graciously showed me the room which I instantly upgraded too! It made my stay at Craig's Royal Hotel far more relaxing and enjoyable. The spacious antiquities of the room size with another room for view city and stair case was extra delightful. The nice Jacuzzi tub was also a relaxing benefit! THANK YOU Jackie for making my stay really far more desirably relaxing along with enjoyable! You really care about your guest!

Wonderful boutique hotel close to restaurants, bars and trains. The decor is lovely and our room was huge like a one bedroom apartment with a balcony.

An excellent depiction of the Gold Rush history.
An excellent depiction of the Gold Rush history. I highly recommend the AURA sound and light show at night. Dress warmly to really enjoy this 3 part show that entertains and educates in equal measure.

Spent the day here. Enjoyed the people in 1850's garb.
Spent the day here. Enjoyed the people in 1850's garb. Watched Blacksmith fashion articles, Enjoyed the schoolhouse where the children actually go to school in clothes from 1850's and are taught with period materials. Toured the Mine show and learned of the disaster where 27 miners died. Enjoyed the actual Bowling Alley from then with the balls that were used so much they aren't round anymore!!!

Loved this trip.
Loved this trip. Only had limited time here and really needed more time. Make sure you have the whole day to explore, book ahead and plan out the activities to make the most. Great for kids to visit (and adults alike)

Loved this place.
Loved this place. Only place you get to see a piece of the gold mining history. You can pan for gold. You get to see what buildings and businesses use to look like and what the tents the settlers use to be like. Awesome history. You do need at least half a day to visit here

We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment which was surprisingly huge. Great amount of space for 2 adults and 3 kids to spread out comfortably. Check in was a breeze and communication with staff was easy, via text.
Apartment was very clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. Added touch of tea, coffee, milk and some small bathroom lotions (shampoo, conditioner, soap etc) was great!
Beds were comfy, location is walking distance to Sovereign Hill. We only stayed one night and wished we'd stayed longer!
Great place. So clean.
Right across the road from sovereign hill.
Great king bed and the staff surprised our 7 year old with his own pull out bed.
Great place and good value.
7min drive into town for food or there is a couple of option within a minute away.
Really comfortable bed, the room was decently sized and the staff were really lovely upon arrival. The car park was convenient and the entry system from hotel to sovereign hill was amazing, it felt like we were VIP's.
Not far from town, close to Sovereign Hill if you’re planning on going there. They service the room every day and were generous with offering anything extra that you may require. Very helpful and obliging.
Beautiful courtyard in the centre of the apartments to look out into from the lounge room. Tables & chairs outside for when the sun comes out. Friendly staff. Comfy beds. Clean apartment. Daily servicing if required. Quiet & beautiful surroundings in whole hotel complex. Service station & meal options nearby. Our main reason for booking was a reasonable price in school holidays when others triple the price. Right opposite Sovereign Hill which is great for families. We’ll be back!
Stayed one night for weekend visit with family. Clean and simple apartment with a lock box to get keys. Great location for Sovereign Hill meant we could be there at opening time the next day.
It was a very comfortable and clean place. It had a fireplace with a gas log insert. Made the apartment very warm and cozy. There was on-site parking. It was in walking distance to restaurants. The location was great too. Just a short drive to Sovereign Hill and the botanical gardens.
Large family accomodation, Quite location, warm rooms, comfortable bedding, great kitchen, loads of free activities for the whole family. Great family destination close to Ballarat central and Sovereign Hills. Friendly and helpful staff.
