Situated in Järvsö Village, by the River Ljusnan, this family-run hotel offers regional cuisine, a large garden and a 9-hole golf course. Guests enjoy free WiFi and outdoor pool during the summer months. The indoor spa is available at a reduced rate for hotel guests. An excellent cute old fashioned hotel in well preserved condition. A dining hall where all guests had their own seats and a buffet dinner in high quality style was being served. Agatha Christie atmosphere 2022 if you will.
Forsbacka
Situated next to Storsjön Lake, this inn is less than 2 km from central Forsbacka and 15 minutes’ drive from Sandviken. It offers a restaurant with a bar and furnished terrace. Gävle city centre is a 15-minute drive away. Forsbacka Wärdshus offers free WiFi in all rooms. Johan was a delight, he went out of his way to make us comfy. . The property was historic and very interesting. The surrounding area was gorgeous.
The dinner was lovely, we had to have something else than the fish sadly (two pregnant ladies and one with allergies) but they fixed it quick and easy and gave us great steak instead! The spa and all help from staff with drinks and anything we asked for was amazing. We got to play in the gazebo with living lights late into the evening and couldn’t have been happier. Breakfast buffet was also great!

Location excellent for road travellers. Close to motorway but quiet, set back in own grounds. Good parking. Rooms a good size, clean, modern and comfortable. The restaurant is fine, food good but selection for dinner a bit limited. Staff pleasant and helpful.
A stay in rural Sweden, on a 400-year old farm. Sounds idyllic? It is. Rooms are very comfortable, restaurant/cafè exceeded expectations, and having a chat with the owner after dinner and breakfast was quite enjoyable.
Absolutely perfect place for having a nice rest, adorable treats from the owners and full of accessories of any kind to make a nice dinner. There is also a nice radio if you need some company or books if you like..

We stayed three nights at ForRest and it was absolutely wonderful. The house has everything needed including information about things to see and to do nearby. Lena was there to welcome us at the beginning and explained everything. The surroundings are peaceful and quiet, you feel like a part of the Forest but there is still lots to see and do. The time was very special to us and we would love to come back someday.
