Garoupas Inn er staðsett í Ponta Delgada, 500 metra frá São Roque-ströndinni, og státar af sameiginlegri setustofu, verönd og sjávarútsýni. Amazing place to stay in Sao Miguel - we cannot wait to go back and stay at Garoupas. The location of Sao Roque was perfect for us, right on the coast, with a beautiful sea view and just a short walk to some lovely beaches. It was only a 5 min drive (40 min walk) into the main city of Ponta Delgada so well connected but just enough outside that it was quieter. Having said that, there were some fantastic restaurants within walking distance and I am sure a few of the bars which we saw were closed (due to it being December - off-season) would be thriving in the summer. The room was fairly small and simple but lovely, had a nice bottle of wine waiting for us, a comfortable bed and a nice big shower. There was also regular cleaning throughout the stay. The real treat was the terrace with the most amazing view over the ocean! The breakfast was amazing - yogurts, fruit, ham, cheese, pastries, bread, fresh baked goods everyday and eggs and bacon if you want it. If you go there, request the peach cobbler! The best part about this place through are the hosts - they literally cannot do more to make you feel comfortable and help you explore the island. Make sure you have a sit down with Mike and a map, we discovered some real hidden gems thanks to him!
