Arco da Calheta
Set in the western part of Madeira, this brand new accommodation was built on the grounds of an old sugar cane factory. The Hotel Engenho Velho features scenic sea views, fruit orchards and an outdoor swimming pool. Andrea the receptionist was so sweet and helpful. She guided every day and made a list of things to do. We were checking out early in the morning so they packed a cute picnic basket as well. Beautiful place and it was a great stay.
Ponta Delgada
Estalagem Corte do Norte is located in Ponta Delgada, 40.5 km from Funchal and 7 km from São Vicente. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Free WiFi is available and free private parking is available on site. Small hotel run by very pleasant owner Paulo, we really enjoyed our stay. Rooms were cleaned every day, every day new towels, toileteries. Breakfast was the best! Continental breakfast, served on your table with fresh coffe your choice from professional preasure coffe machine :) You can enyoy capuccino or small espresso and ask even for more for free. Breakfast includes bowl of fresh fruits and 3 kinds of pastries with delicious Madeira croisants. I really miss them now :) They have no problem with anything in hotel and always want to please their guests to the highest point. They recomand you best levada walks, what to do and see in Madeira and show you in maps where it is. Really great support. Hotel doesn't have regular dinner, but they will cook for you anything you like if you order it in advance. This is a guarantee of fresh fish :) This small hotel is the best for your stay if you like quiet area with nice view. Ideal for couples. Only 12 rooms in hotel. Close to minimarket at the next corner and also gas station. Public parking area on place and also parking is awaylable on road along the hotel. Hotel is situated on the north part of Madeira with close access to all most popular Levadas and sightseeing.
Caniço
Inn & Art Madeira has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Caniço. Located around 1.2 km from Reis Magos Beach, the inn with free WiFi is also 11 km away from Marina do Funchal. The accommodation features room service, a concierge service and luggage storage for guests. Spectacular location with fantastic restaurant. Truly a gem I hope to return to.

Location was perfect (7 min from the beach, 1 min from the center). Owner very helpful (e.g. tecommended truly nice dinner and breakfast place). The property itself - stylish and clean.
This place is exceptional in every way. From the secluded and beautiful location to the chic and spacious villas and facilities such as the pool and sauna. The thought and attention to detail that has gone into creating a place where you can truly relax and recharge in privacy is quite unique. Add to this the personal touch of the hosts Marco and Maria who look after every detail and share their wonderful food and wine in their dinner and wine experience, and the package is complete.

Excellent breakfast in the restaurant adjacent to the hotel gardens. The setting was exceptional with mountain views and beautiful tropical gardens. We stayed in an old style villa which was charming and rustic. The pool and reception bar area was beautiful and the staff very friendly and welcoming.

It was our first apartment booked in Madeira. At the beginning we loved the location and view. But then you realise that it’s bit far from supermarkets, restaurants…. The towels had strange smell, we couldn’t use them. Bed covers, pillows and blankets looked not changed from long time, had smell of sweat….
Excellent location, very friendly staff ( nothing is a problem), warm pool water, great choice of food at breakfast time and dinner, it was our 2nd stay at Pestana Promenade and we are looking forward to coming back in 2025 :)
Large room and beautiful bathroom with a great shower. A lot of mirrors an some room to put up your clothes. Fresh breakfast. On request they make fresh eggs and bacon! And very nice is the hottub! Just ask and they heat it for you. They also have a very good restaurant and tavern in about 50 metres. Very good to eat! We went there several times to drink a poncha or to have dinner.
One of the best guest houses we've ever been to. The rooms were lovely and clean (the rooms were cleaned every single day of our stay) and both of the hosts are very sweet. Beautiful terasse where we chilled all the time and ate our dinners. What we looked forward the most by booking this stay was the breakfast everybody in the comments praised about and we weren't disappointed! There was everything - from warm bread to fruit salad to a desert. Couldn't imagine a better stay in Funchal for the price we paid. Obrigado!
Location. Is the best premium spot all around the city. Unbeatable. The kindness and diligence of the staff (special mention of the dinner personnel). Was really a five star service. Excellent relationship value / price. During the dates of my staying there were excellents offers and choices (half pension rate, just breakfast, suite, estándar room, etc)
