I suffered diarrhoea before arrival & felt ill on arrival. Kind receptionist made me & brought local remedy drink to my room & happily allowed check in at 11.30am. Liked room balcony. We arrived in Arequipa, Peru mid-morning and were allowed an early check-in. The hostess, who I believe was the owner, greeted us warmly. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the showers were nice and hot. We stayed there for 2 nights before heading off to our next adventure, but due to a change of plans (my husband’s altitude sickness) we returned to Arequipa with no hotel reservations anywhere. We walked the 10-15 minutes from La Plaza de Armas to the Chikan hostel crossing our fingers the entire way, hoping they had an open room. They did and greeted us like family once again. The second room was just as nice as the first. We also had a delicious hot breakfast every morning we were there. Overall, a very nice place to stay in Arequipa.
