Kawau Island
Every room is fitted with a private bathroom with free toiletries, while some rooms will provide you with a terrace and others also provide guests with sea views. At the inn all rooms have bed linen and towels. The location was absolute magical. The beds were all very comfortable and great that most had ensuite bathrooms. Clean and very well equipped. Good water activities. Rob was very friendly and helpful.

Built in 1912 and offering budget, backpacker-style accommodation in a charming historic building, National Park Alpine Lodge features free WiFi in communal areas and both Netflix and satellite channels in the shared lounge area. It is located in National Park Village, 25 km from Mount Ruapehu. Free private parking is available on site. I felt like home. Joyce is super nice! The Lodge has everything you need: comfortable bed, big kitchen, good wifi, a nice and comfy common area, hot water, groceries. The place is quiet and very well located for tongariro national park (you take shuttle buses and Joyce can take you to Whakapapa).
Mangawhai

Beds are warm and comfortable each bed is fitted with electric blankets, there is a microwave bar fridge, toaster, electric stove top and oven, pots pans and utensils for cooking, wall heater is enough to keep living and sleeping area cosy and fan heater is perfect for the kitchen which also heats the bathroom. Each room has a shower and toilet which is something I need for two young children. Tv with a freeview box I'd recommend bringing your own Chromecast or Amazon stick for movies if you're staying for a couple of days or more. This motel is my go-to for affordable accommodation in waiouru it has everything we need as a family it has a laundromat (cash only) next door down the long driveway, across the road from the takeaways which is handy, subway on the right and Z gas station on the left which is 24hours. Cherie is a wonderful host and we always love staying at the roadside motel.

Situated in Levin, Ploughman Motel offers free WiFi and off street parking. Rooms feature a kitchenette or full kitchen, a dining area and a private bathroom with shower. All rooms are fitted with a balcony or covered terrace. Got what we paid for.Basic but suited our budjet

Great location pre and post flight. It’s across the road from the terminal. Staff are efficient, helpful, and friendly. Rooms are well maintained and comfortable. Dinner was a very pleasant surprise. Breakfast offers a wide variety of food.

Great location in CBD. Arrived pre check in time & my room was ready which was a bonus. Friendly, efficient staff on Reception. Family birthday celebrated at the hotel along with buffet dinner & brekky the next day. Being GF, there was a good selection of food for me. Loved the Antipodes hand & body wash! Also appreciated the Sky sport channels being available on the TV to watch the Olympics. Will stay here again, but next time will book one of the refurbished rooms
The apartment was fabulous. Comfy beds and great space for a family of 4. We loved being able to walk to the tavern for dinner!
Great spot - friendly innkeeper
Location was gorgeous. We could see the waterfront of Auckland from outside our room. Boat ride for $4.00 from Devonport to Auckland Waterfront oneway. Room was tucked away from the bussle of the traffic in the busy area. Whalf and ocean was just outside our door step. Tavern below had dinner and drinks available to order. If you love the look of old but with some modern comforts you'll love this hotel. Even had an elevator to upstairs.
Great Guest House with lovely staff and facilities, it was great to sit out with other holidaymakers enjoying a drink, dinner and a chat. I would highly recommend staying here, it's a minute walk to the swimming beach, 5 minute walk to resturants and bars, along with a convience store. It was a 5-10 minute walk to the centre of town. We would definatly stay here again!
Convenient overnight stop on route to Wellington. Spacious 2 bed townhouse, all we needed. Had dinner at local tavern which was lovely
