We experienced several Sri Lankian Home Stays before I wrote this recommendation (we stayed 4 nights at this one but recognized that the most ones only stay 2 nights). The owners are super friendly and helpful. Even their English is baisc and you think they don't understand, they came back a few mintues and support you with more than we expected. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. The garden is nice and the home stay is not far from the golden temple and reachable with the free bicycles from the owners. The food is pretty good. Of course you can have cheaper food outside on take-away shops but try the food at the home stay. They prepare it fresh and its a lot for one person. For tourist tours they never push/force you to do something with some special driver or agency. They just ask you if you are fine and if you like, they can help you with bookings, tuktuks etc (so you have to ask). This polite behavior we appreciated a lot. Finally, we were delighted and have nothing to complaint. (English is basic of the owners but ask yourself: how much Singhalian words you know especially after 2 year of stop of tourism due to Covid ;) )

Kalana Homestay er staðsett í Sigiriya, 1,2 km frá Sigiriya Rock og býður upp á gistirými með garði, ókeypis einkabílastæði og verönd. Host is really nice and ready to help you. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. ideal location, and very good value for money. I will come back and thank you.

Sigiri Thilanka Rest Sigiriya er staðsett í Sigiriya, 2,6 km frá Sigiriya-klettinum og býður upp á gistirými með garði, ókeypis einkabílastæði, sameiginlegri setustofu og verönd. Owner was very nice and everything was clean and spacious rooms. With a nice bathroom
