The village where the property is located is famous for its craftsmen, especially potters and basket makers, and there are plenty of wonderful places to see around. The place is a 15 min ride to the city on motorbike (very easy to get a Grab or Gojek for a couple of euros). The houses Andy built are beautiful and confortable, made with old carved wood pieces repurposed from other buildings. If you are interested in a off-turistic experience, I highly recommend staying here.

We just wanted to have one night stop in Jepara before going to the Karimunjawa Islands, but now we would have loved to stay longer. The best thing about the hotel was the host. He was so welcoming, helped us in every way we needed and even organized ferry tickets for the islands and drove us to the harbour so in contrast to what we read it was absolutely easy to get there! The hotel was a dream too, our room was lovely and the design of the outside area is nothing but pretty too, a wonderful place to relax.

At the accommodation every room comes with air conditioning and a flat-screen TV. It was cheap and amazing 100 out of 10!!!! The location, the vibe, the staff, it was all amazing. At Penginapan Kahan every room is equipped with a seating area. The owner is very polite, helpful and resourceful. The room was large and apparently you can request a fan, even though it's quite cold already. All the utensils you need are available in the kitchen area, with a gas stove and a clean sink.. Anytime I travel solo heading to batu, for sure I will stay at this place. Very recommended
