Food was excellent and staff very friendly and attentive and went out of their way to accommodate our requirements. Car parking outside room was a welcome bonus.

Set in Howden and within 33 km of York Railway station, The Bowmans has a bar, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi throughout the property. When i arrived i went to the bar to check in, bar staff are really nice and friendly, payment was quick and easy, was shown how to enter and exit the premises if i was staying out late/leaving early in the morning which was handy as i was off early the following morning, was told where to leave the room keys etc. After that i was given directions to my room which was easy to find. The bed was sooooo comfortable, I didn't want to get out of it the morning after. The bedding and towels are clean and fresh, I ordered the homemade beef stew, it was amazing. I highly recommend ordering it if its still available as it sells out fast. I'm definitely making it my go to place if I'm in the area.
