Hostería Papagayo is a great place to enjoy nature. It has plenty of friendly animals (dogs, horses, lamas, chickens, rabbits, etc) and offers diverse activities (tours to Cotopaxi (around 30min from the park entrance), horse riding, night walks on the property) which we enjoyed a lot. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was nice having a restaurant on site, we particularly enjoyed the grilled trout. Our room was large, clean and the chimney gave it a very cosy touch while keeping us warm after an outdoor jacuzzi session! We highly recommend this place.

Beautiful old hacienda. Nice walk with horses and great views above the hacienda. We experienced problems with our credit cards at the time of payment. The lady at the reception proved very friendly, patient and helpful.

It is perfectly located and close to Cotopaxi Park. There is not much around in the area, which means you have calm and quiet the entire time. We were extremely fortunate that we were the only guests, which means that we had the entire place to ourselves. The staff on-site was super helpful and showed us around the area, introduced us to the animals on the farm, and provided us with advice, rubber boots, and great hospitality overall. Food options are limited, however, we enjoyed the simple yet tasty dishes that were served for both lunch and dinner. Breakfast was included in the price and had a good variety. Please note that you need a taxi or private car to reach the Hacienda as it is in the middle of nowhere. (Which is probably the biggest selling point!) - Speaking of selling point, this accommodation is higher priced than most in the area, but it was so worth it!

This place is amazing for the history connected with it. It is a real hacienda, with much of the original antique furniture. The staff are so professional and friendly, we felt well cared for. Dinner and breakfast were very good, beds super comfy, and a fireplace in every room which the staff lit for us anytime we wanted it. Great experience, close to Cotopaxi volcano. Worth the cost!
