If you want a break from the average hotel with worn furnishings and feel like a special treat, this is it. All the rooms have a theme, and are wonderfully decorated and appointed. The rooms I stayed in had huge soaking tubs, real stone bath counters, and huge, comfortable beds. They had balconies overlooking a big panorama of the faraway mountains, and the attractive neighborhood. The rooms I stayed in had a fridge, microwave, and electric kettle to heat water for your coffee. There’s even a small collection of sweet snacks. The area is walkable, with a park at the bottom of the street. The continental breakfast is served in an attractive dining room, and the host will be there to greet you and pour your coffee. Well worth the slightly higher cost than the average hotel.

This 2 story Victorian-styled inn, located in the village of Radium Hot Springs, is 5 minutes' drive from the Radium Hot Springs pools in Kootenay National Park. The owner is very flexible and kind. We arrived very late in the night, after the closing time. However after giving him the card details, he solved the problem by leaving the key at a secret place and we could enter the building at the side door.

This hotel is located on Long Lake, 10 minutes from downtown Nanaimo, British Columbia. It serves a daily continental breakfast and all rooms feature a lake view from a balcony or patio. The beds were so comfortable and the outlook onto the lake superb!
