Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
I’ve stayed at this property a few times and I’ve always loved it. It’s quiet, the decor has a rustic, classical charm. There are small details such as a story room where you can hear lines from a movie being spoken out loud in the library. I walked down to the restaurant in the courtyard called Bellagio and enjoyed a dinner and some drinks. It was really convenient and easily accessible from the hotel. In the morning I grabbed a coffee from the coffee shop which was delicious, probably the best I’ve had.
It was a pleasure to meet our host at breakfast. There was a neat dialog with each of the guests, often in different languages. Oh, and the breakfast was amazing with the fresh breads and homemade banana jam. The innkeeper allowed us to drop luggage early and come back late to meet the taxi for the airport
Loved our stay at the Tintagel Guest house. Big comfortable bedrooms, immaculately clean. Wonderful hosts, friendly and helpful, they happily arranged dinner reservations for us. Lovely breakfast, outside in the courtyard on good days, inside when it became windy. Secure off road parking. Great location, close to Kloof Street, Long Street and an easy drive or inexpensive taxi to all the main city centre attractions and the Table Mountain Cable Car station.
Fabulous hotel - wonderful staff and hospitality by them all. Comfortable beds, stunning location and wonderful breakfast too! The restaurant looked great, but we had already planned dinner elsewhere sadly. But will definitely be dining there next time! Loved everything about the Guest House!
The location and facilities were great, the owner absolutely amazing and the staff friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended...a few times!
Best value for money, and the fact that the units are pet-friendly in addition to everything else the guest house offers makes it a winner.
We had very nice stay in Scalabrini Guest House. It is in quite safe neighbourhood (we go walking in morning and midday, but in the evening - after 6 p.m.- it would be better to take a taxi, if you are white-scinned tourist).
Exellent room with all necesary equipment, nice kitchen, perfect view on the Lion's head mountine.
I had a wonderful time. Had wonderful conversations with Utah and the owner of the guesthouse. Their hospitality made me come back a second night when I had to return to the city. Beautifully restored heritage home. It's also located very close too many inner city activities.
Would highly recommend this guest house.
Perfect location in the nice De Waterkant District, restaurants and cafés close by, but not as busy as Long Street. All of the staff is so friendly and welcoming. They have a big breakfast menu, we tried several things and everything was delicious. Dinner was delicious as well. During our stay in Cape Town, be stayed in three different hotels/guest houses and this one was by far the best, we loved everything.
