The hotel is clean and near the airport and with free shuttle, it makes all the difference to choose this place.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
The location is great for getting around Chicago. Two train stations that are each 2-3 blocks away. The rooms are clean, decent sized, and comfortable. The hotel bar is a great place to reset mid-day with beer or coffee. It has a laid back feel around happy hour/dinner. but does seem to have a night club vibe later.
Great location, and relatively cost-effective compared to surrounding hotels. Well-run and friendly staff, especially the Chicago-style hot dogs welcome dinner that was happening the day I arrived.
This property is beautiful. Located in the heart of Chicago, very near everything I had planned including a walk through Millenium Park, Grant Park and up the coast to the Navy Pier. We also took the Red Line to a White Sox game, had dinner in the hotel. I joked that the pillows were "like butter"...you'd have to be a Billy Crystal fan to get that one. But really, everything was just top TOP notch.
We were a little disappointed to find out that they no longer did a full service bed and breakfast but instead did a self-serve continental breakfast. That said, the baked goods were made in house and there was a decent selection of items. The large shared kitchen was nice and easy to use, it even had a shared fridge for guests.
You really can't beat the location of the Wicker Park Inn! It was close to a train station for easy access to other ares of Chicago and was surrounded by fantastic food and interesting shops.
Proximity to United Center was great, Park Tavern across the street was excellent for dinner and drinks, staff was extremely friendly and helpful, room was small but well appointed and comfortable. Would 100% stay here again.
