Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
Beautiful property run by a beautiful family, stayed here to do HNP and really happy we did. Smiles all round, lots of laughter, huge delicious dinner and coffee with a packed breakfast for the morning. Room was big and comfortable and the garden overlooks the mountains, couldn’t ask for more.
Cozy home, spacious room, natural environment, friendly and caring hosts. Mudhu’s cooking was amazing, authentic local home cooking. I wish to have more breakfast and dinner there. Mahinda helped me for getting train ticket and money exchange, which took lots effort in the small place. Thank you thank you!
Icy Falls gave us a lovely cup of tea on arrival which was very welcome after a long day. The room is a generous retreat in the mountatins. Great breakfast and dinner. If only we arrived earlier to enjoy the view for longer.
Beautiful location with the most amazing view! The staff were very helpful and we had nice lunch and dinner. Beautiful area to walk! They arranged tuktuk transport for us to Horton plains at 6am in the morning. Definetely recommendable stay!
Such an amazing accommodation, super helpful family, always making sure you have everything! Great dinner and a to go breakfast for our early morning hike in the National Park! We would have loved to stay longer!!! If you are looking for a beautiful, chill and truly authentic experience you should stay here! You can do nice hikes and the NP is only a short tuktuk ride away. Highly recommend this place and we are sad we only stayed one night.
Prakash and other staff members were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They took care of us very well. What is even more impressive was the food made by Chef Prakash. We are originally from Sri Lanka, and we have had plenty of Sri Lankan food, including home cooked food. But the Rice and curries dinner we had here was unique and the best we ever had. We had a great mountain view from the room and balcony, and were able to enjoy the Sunrise directly from the room.
Amazing homestay, very nice and helpful family. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location is very close to the Horton Plains, family helped us arrange a tuktuk at 6:30 am to get there. They also cooked us two delicious dinners and even helped to take care of my boyfriend’s sprained ankle.
So welcoming - endless supply of tea, coffee and biscuits and cooked an amazing breakfast and dinner for me during my stay. Also arranged until til to get over to Horton Plains. Brilliant stay ☺️
Mahinda and Muthu went out of their way to make our stay very enjoyable.
The bed's matress was by far the most comfy we slept on during our trip in Sri Lanka. The lunch and dinner they prepared was delicious. Ohiya makes for the perfect base to visit the Horton's Plain NP. We wish we could have stayed more in this splendid B&B!
