Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
The hospitality was absolutely amazing, from activity recommendations to the little extras, we felt very welcome by everyone. We mixed eating out with cooking dinner in the room, enjoying sunsets on the deck. At night, the sky deck and outdoor bath also made for a perfect end to the evenings--talking, talking, talking while looking out at the ocean and the Milky Way.
The location is perfect to drop off your bags from the ferry and start exploring withon minutes off arriving. Its the closest guesthouse to the big ferry from Kagoshima. Its also the lowest price guest house I found. Its an old japanese style guesthouse so dont be suprised that there is no actual bed or a couch/chair in the room. But I actually found it quite comfortable to sleep on the thin matress on the nice floor and had a great sleep.
Lovely guest house with incredibly friendly hostess! It is simple, yet love everything and every moment there! The lady who runs the guest house is extremely nice and helped me book the boat when my initial plan went wrong. I felt home and I also made good friends there. The airport and a supermarket are close by, just 5 minute walk. Free washing machine which is a plus after doing a hike. Will surely come back again!
My brother and I stayed there in May for 4 nights and we were more than satisfied. The owners were so lovely, the room was clean and spacious.
We couldn't book a rental car and luckily the owner booked one for us. So we can't thank them enough.
It is worth booking breakfast and dinner. Meals were prepared with love and it was so delicious.
And we got very helpful tips where to go to.
Great value for the price.
I recommend to book a rental car as early as possible 😁.
ありがとございました❤️
The host is very friendly and tried to explain all facilities to us in English upon our arrival. He built all the cottages himself and he converted the oldies to become goodies. Though the cottage does not look very appealing from outside, we like the inner design very much.
The staff recommended us a good restaurant not far from the cottage for dinner. The price was reasonable and the food tastes very good.
You need a car to get access to the cottage. As we rented a car, it is easy to drive there.
Yuki and her husband were wonderful hosts. They were quick to respond and did a great job catering to our requests. Yuki provided us with some great tips and recommendations of things to do around the island. It is located on the South side of the island, so there is very little restaurants in the area but fortunately they offer breakfast/dinner at a cost. The breakfast was okay.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Pension Blue Drop and would recommend this stay to anyone!
Staying in this beautiful, comfortable, rustic riverside guest house was one of the most notable moments of my whole travels. The lady that runs it is the sweetest and kindest person I have ever met. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring Yakushima and the Jomonsugi hike. The rooms are comfortable and clean as those of any ryokan, and there are large onsen style baths free to use. You absolutely MUST stay here if you plan on staying anywhere on the island. Its worth every yen.
We had such a lovely stay at Yakunoyado Taguchi. We were picked up from the ferry port and brought us to the guest house. This was much appreciated as we arrived in the middle of a typhoon!
Despite the rain we were able to explore the island thanks to Shigeru's great recommendations.
The guesthouse itself is clean and well kept. We also had breakfast and dinner at Yakunoyado Taguchi which was phenomenal.
This is a wonderful guesthouse which we highly recommend.
The owners are extremely friendly and profesional. They helped us to rent a car even though we didn't book in advance and it was busy. They recommened things to do and important natural parks and sites to visit, located few minutes drive away from the onsen and few minutes walk from a nice restaurant and bar. Also we ordered dinner at the guest house and it was very very delicious full menue set including the best home made plum wine we ever had. The facilities are both clean and comfortable. Thank you very much for everything!
