Amami

Everything! Really lovely and helpful hosts and the house is very beautiful and clean. I also recommend eating Keihan as a breakfast there, it's a delicious local dish.
When I return to Amami, I will definitely stay here again ♥️
Yakushima
Situated in Yakushima, 29 km from Yakusugi Land, Ananda Chillage Yakushima features accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge. The property is located 46 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, 9.2 km from Yumiyahachiman Shrine and 37 km from Scuba Diving Ever Blue Yakushima. Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, the non-smoking inn has a hot tub. I loved absolutely everything about this property, it was a relaxing atmosphere, the breakfast provided were delicious and big portions, and the host went out of her way to ensure that I had everything for my stay. She helped make restaurant reservations, massage bookings, and gave advice on areas of the island to visit. Would definitely stay again!!!
The host is very friendly and tried to explain all facilities to us in English upon our arrival. He built all the cottages himself and he converted the oldies to become goodies. Though the cottage does not look very appealing from outside, we like the inner design very much. The staff recommended us a good restaurant not far from the cottage for dinner. The price was reasonable and the food tastes very good. You need a car to get access to the cottage. As we rented a car, it is easy to drive there.
We stayed here for 2 nights in April 2024. The hosts, Shigeru-san and Hitomi-san, were very friendly. They offer free pick-up from/to the airport. We had breakfast and dinner here and the meals were delicious. Our room was very cozy and the shared facilites were clean.

The hotel offer black sand bath (at 1,100 yen) and onsen. There are a lot of different style of yukata for ladies to choose from. Dinner was delicious with a Japanese pork set and some other buffet option. The sea view was nice.

A business hotel a bit of a way from Kagoshima airport, but the only thing available after we missed the last flight. It was fine for our needs, good value, and close to some lively places for a drink or dinner. The breakfast was minimalist, but OK.
It is a cosy hot spring accommodation with breakfast and dinner. My family enjoy the hot spring full of smell of sulphur. A bit distant from the city but really relaxing, good place to enjoy holiday.
Staying in this beautiful, comfortable, rustic riverside guest house was one of the most notable moments of my whole travels. The lady that runs it is the sweetest and kindest person I have ever met. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring Yakushima and the Jomonsugi hike. The rooms are comfortable and clean as those of any ryokan, and there are large onsen style baths free to use. You absolutely MUST stay here if you plan on staying anywhere on the island. Its worth every yen.
The owners are extremely friendly and profesional. They helped us to rent a car even though we didn't book in advance and it was busy. They recommened things to do and important natural parks and sites to visit, located few minutes drive away from the onsen and few minutes walk from a nice restaurant and bar. Also we ordered dinner at the guest house and it was very very delicious full menue set including the best home made plum wine we ever had. The facilities are both clean and comfortable. Thank you very much for everything!
