Location is perfect on main street & very central to lovely village. Easy access to Blenheim Palace (although closed when we were there for an EU summit) if you haven’t previously visited, which we had. It wasn’t too busy - maybe due to Blenheim being closed! Hotel is an old coaching inn I believe so quirky & historic building. There was parking on site.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. The pub did a good dinner, too. The room was quiet, comfortable and well equipped (we appreciated the iron and ironing board as we were going to a wedding nearby).

Breakfast was very good but at the price we paid why was there a £5 supplement for avocado eggs? Dinner was very good.

Very convenient for Blenheim Palace and the concert we were attending. Staff very friendly and helpful. Close to the train station for trips to Oxford. Across the road we had access to Blenheim Park for walks. A local pub, 10 minutes walk for dinner in the evening. Certainly going back next year. Could do with a magnifying mirror for the bathroom, for people like me with aging sight.

I visited the Bear Inn many years ago when it was a quaint cozy Coaching Inn. Not one fire was lit, and the ambiance of an historic Inn has vanished. Very disappointing. The staff could not have been more helpful and eager to assist. SUCH a pitty this unique setting has been wasted for profit.
