Bartons Mill Pub and Dining, hotel in Stanford Dingley

Situated in Basingstoke and with Jane Austen's House Museum reachable within 24 km, Bartons Mill Pub and Dining features a garden, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar.

An excellent and attractive location very conveniently located, a well frequented country pub at the centre of walking trails withing a short drive of the town. The very comfortable rooms are located in a detached block about 50 yards from the main building Writing this, I realise that very small matters can make the difference between an exceptional stay and something less remarkable. We were greeted by a very friendly staff member who showed us where the room was located. The room had character, some excellent wall art and all the necessary facilities.

The New Inn, hotel in Stanford Dingley

Located in Reading and with LaplandUK reachable within 28 km, The New Inn provides a restaurant, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar.

Location nice, our bed comfortable and rooms reasonably clean, but mould in the bathroom of one room which was run down veneers lifting, and our room had 2 sinks in the bathroom with one tap that was extremely loose so didn't dare use it in case it fell off and caused a flood. Generally un maintained, corroded fittings etc. We only saw one member of staff when we arrived, although there were bar staff when we left for our event but no-one about when we returned or when we left at ten next day - we were told to leave room keys in the doors. No breakfast available.

It was beautiful; lots of quirky pieces of furniture and things on the walls, all ‘Bull’ related obviously. We didn’t eat a full dinner, just a drink and a snack but the food being served in the restaurant looked great. Nice little play area and field for children to play in

All the staff were really helpful and friendly and the food was lovely - both at breakfast and for lunch on arrival day. We liked the decor in the pub and rustic feel of the bedrooms.

The food was delicious and far better than the usual pub grub. The service was pleasant and attentive. Every request was answered quickly and well. I really enjoyed the scampi and skinny chips.

The location was great and I liked the 'pub with rooms' style. The food was delicious and great value with a set three course dinner meal available. The bed was super comfy and the room was clean.

Good value modern accomodation attached to an old inn with lots of outside space in a lovely village you would not find by chance. Despite the latter their good restaurant was busy and we had an enjoyable 3 course meal for £20 (Tues and Thu evenings and ? Friday lunch). Would make a lovely short break and there is another nice pub doing food a 5 minute walk away if you fancy a change..

We stayed on a Monday when the inn was closed so understood that food was not available. Working around was not a problem. Overall a nice location with well presented accommodation. Marko was particularly helpful. Will use again.

Very pleasant room. Nice little field to exercise the dogs. Good food at the sister pub The Bladebone as there was a power cut to the Bull Inn when we arrived. Breakfast at The Bull Inn was lovely too. Lovely staff, efficient, friendly and very helpful, especially Sophie!
